This thesis aims to fully understand not only the position and significance of female characters in the author's works but also to better grasp the deeply humanistic conception of humanity in romantic art. Following this general orientation, the author will attempt to connect the female characters in V. Hugo's novels with the female characters in Vietnamese romantic novels to discover the shared socio-aesthetic values ​​of romantic literature.

The thesis also clarifies the artistic values ​​of romantic literature in the construction of female character portrayals.

Applications include teaching literature in secondary schools and researching the literary works of V. Hugo.

Further research and study of female character portrayals in Hugo's novels in particular, and female character portrayals in romantic literature in general, will contribute to clarifying the artistic values ​​of romantic literature in the construction of female character portrayals.

By this way, the author of the thesis tried to relate women in Victor Hugo's novels to characters form romantic Vietnamese novels so that the typical beauty values ​​in romantic literary creations were put under high emphasis.

In addition, the thesis underlined artistic values ​​of romantic writings by characterizing series of women's images.
