The thesis has outlined the basic theoretical issues of electronic newspapers and their own advantages, the environment, readers and readers' comments on electronic newspapers, current environmental issues in Vietnam and the Party and State's policies on environmental issues. It mentions the impact of environmental pollution on society and the need for the involvement of functional agencies as well as the press.

With the characteristics of multimedia communication, electronic newspapers will be one of the effective methods for social criticism. With the following characteristics: multimedia (can provide information simultaneously in text, still images, animations, sounds, charts, tables, etc.), high interactivity (the public can easily respond to comments right below each article), large information storage capacity (works are not limited in storage, easy to search), non-periodic information (updated continuously 24/24h, not limited by geographical distance) ...

However, the modern online media environment has many different forms such as: social networks, electronic newspapers, blogs, forums... with many different purposes. Meanwhile, the purpose of social criticism is to build, perfect and promote social development. Therefore, in the current context, comment management in the press is a "hot" issue of contemporary Vietnamese media. To evaluate the effectiveness of social criticism in electronic newspapers, it is necessary to put it in the relationship between culture and journalism, that is, to evaluate on the basis of the culture of social criticism in electronic newspapers. Along with that, on the basis of pointing out the problems in comment management on environmental issues, the thesis explores and analyzes comments on environmental pollution issues.

The thesis analyzed the issue of Managing readers' comments on environmental issues of three websites Dan Tri; VnExpress; Vietnamnet, from which some lessons can be drawn as follows:

Firstly, online newspaper administration has created online forums, reflecting and shaping public opinion, and at the same time providing important guidance for management agencies and competent authorities to make correct decisions in political and social life.

Second, the effectiveness achieved after this series of articles is not only to agree or oppose negative public opinions about environmental pollution or decisions issued by management agencies, it has proven that in modern Vietnamese society, the role and existence of social criticism is extremely necessary, the basis for creating a highly democratic society.

Third, the regulations, decisions, bills, and policies of the state are completely public to the whole society, and everyone can participate in public and direct criticism.

Fourth, social criticism in electronic newspapers is a communication process in which both the subject and the object must have goodwill when criticizing for this process to be effective.

The thesis also draws experiences in managing comments on electronic newspapers in general and environmental pollution from a positive perspective, and proposes opinions on how to effectively manage electronic newspapers and create public opinion to promote the development of society in general and make the environment increasingly receive more attention./.

The thesis has proposed ideas on how to manage electronic newspapers to achieve high application as well as help those working in management to comment effectively, creating a more positive effect on the public.
