10. Summary of the results of the thesis:
From the results of theoretical and practical research on "Loneliness in young adults today”, we draw some conclusions:
- Demographic factors had a low influence on the experience of loneliness, in particular, gender and whether or not living with relatives or friends had no impact on the loneliness levels of young adults.
- People with healthy, active lifestyles have lower levels of loneliness.
- Among the five basic personality dimensions of human beings including neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness, the levels of neuroticism and extroversion have a great influence on the feeling of loneliness of young Vietnamese adults.
- Surrounding relationships are the factor that most strongly influences each person's experience of loneliness. Vietnamese people aged 20-30 have the highest need to connect with friends and increase social relationships.
- People who value material values and social status tend to be more lonely.
