Summary of Thesis Results: Based on research and surveys of cultural programs on VTV4 channel for Vietnamese people abroad from May 2011 to May 2012, the thesis has obtained the following results: - Affirming the importance of promoting Vietnamese culture to the Vietnamese diaspora community. It not only introduces and promotes the finest aspects of Vietnamese culture, arousing national pride and love for the homeland in each overseas Vietnamese person, but also serves as a powerful tool to disseminate the Party and State's policies in the cause of reform, especially the policy of national unity and policies towards the Vietnamese community abroad. With its distinctive strengths as a television channel, VTV4 has played a crucial role in promoting Vietnamese culture to overseas Vietnamese communities. - Through surveys on the quantity and frequency of cultural promotional programs and the compilation of audience survey data, this thesis clearly identifies the advantages, limitations, and causes of the quality of content and format of cultural programs on VTV4 for the overseas Vietnamese community. - Based on the experience of cultural promotion in several countries in the region, this thesis proposes practical solutions to improve the quality of cultural programs on VTV4. 11.
