The means of reference in the text are third-person pronouns: he, he, it, they, them...; demonstrative words/determinative words: here, there, there, this, that...; Phrases with an unclear meaning in a certain sentence in the text such as: this, that, that news, this child... 12. Practical applicability - The research results of the thesis can be applied in teaching students of literature and linguistics, for foreigners learning Vietnamese, helping them to use personal pronouns and demonstratives correctly in the functions of pointing or replacing and referring, contributing to the creation and better perception of texts. 13.
