Major: Linguistics 9. Code: 60.22.01 10. Scientific supervisor: Prof. Dr. Tran Tri Doi 11. Summary of the results of the thesis (summarize the results of the thesis, emphasize new results, if any) Our thesis describes the Kinh phonetics of Mu Thau village, China, and then compares it with modern Vietnamese phonetics. The phonetics of Kinh people in Mu Thau village, China are as follows: + Tones: According to our statistical results, Kinh people in Mu Thau village, China have only 5 tones, which are even tone, falling tone, sharp tone, falling tone and heavy tone. + Initial sounds: The initial sounds in the syllables of Kinh in Mú Thâu are always consonants. Kinh in Mú Thâu has 19 phonemes as initial consonants in its phonetic system: [ ʔ ], [ k ], [ ŋ ], [ ɲ ], [ t ], [ b ], [ d ], [ m ], [ n ], [ s ], [ h ], [ v ], [ r ], [ l ], [ t' ], [ c ], [ ɣ ], [ f ], [ z ]. + Medial sounds: In the syllable structure of Kinh in Mú Thâu, China, there are 2 medial sounds, which are the medial sound /-w-/ and the medial sound / ʔ / (but because the sound / ʔ / exists after all the initial consonants, we do not consider it). Therefore, we believe that Kinh in Mú Thâu has only one medial sound /-w-/. + Main sounds: Vowels play the main role in the Kinh syllables of Mú Thâu village. So, according to statistics, in the syllable system of Mú Thâu village, there are 15 main vowels, which are [ie], [ɯɤ], [uo], [i], [e], [ε], [ɯ], [ɤ], [a], [u], [o], [ɔ:], [ɔ], [ɤˇ], [ă]. + Final sounds: In the Kinh syllable system of Mú Thâu village, there are 6 final consonants: [-p], [-t], [-k], [-m], [-n], [-ŋ]. Compared to modern Vietnamese, the Kinh syllables of Mú Thâu village are very different. For example, in the number of vowels, consonants, etc. For example, Vietnamese has 14 vowels: [ie], [ɯɤ], [uo], [i], [e], [ε], [ɯ], [ɤ], [a], [u], [o], [ɔ], [ɤˇ], [ă]; Kinh language of Mú Thau village has 15 vowels: [ie], [ɯɤ], [uo], [i], [e], [ε], [ɯ], [ɤ], [a], [u], [o], [ɔ:], [ɔ], [ɤˇ], [ă]. Kinh language of Mú Thau village has 1 more vowel [ɔ:] than Vietnamese. And in the current Vietnamese phonetic system, there are 22 phonemes as initial consonants: [ t'], [ t ], [ ʈ ], [ c ], [ k ], [ ʔ ], [ b ], [ d ], [ m ], [ n ], [ ɲ ], [ ŋ ], [ f ], [ s ], [ ʂ ], [ χ ], [ h ], [ v ], [ z ], [ ʐ ], [ ɣ ], [ l ]; while the Kinh language of Mú Thàu village has only 19 phonemes as initial consonants: [ ʔ ], [ k ], [ ŋ ], [ ɲ ], [ t ], [ b ], [ d ], [ m ], [ n ], [ s ], [ h ], [ v ], [ r ], [ l ], [ t' ], [ c ], [ ɣ ], [ f ], [ z ]. Thus, Vietnamese is 3 phonemes more than Kinh language of Mu Thau village: [ ʈ ], [ ʂ ], [ χ ]. Our thesis will contribute to those who do research on the phonetics of Kinh ethnic group in China, and help explain the history of Vietnamese language. 12. Possibility of practical application Contribute to those who do research on the phonetics of Kinh ethnic group in China, and help explain the history of Vietnamese language. 13. Official thesis title: Compares the phonetics of Kinh language of Mu Thau hamlet (China) with phonetics of Vietnamese 8. Major: Linguistics 9. Code: 602201 10. Supervisors: Prof.Dr Tran Tri Doi 11. Therefore, we think that Kinh language of Mu Thau hamlet has only one buffering sound /-w-/. + Main sound: vowel sound has the role of main sound in the syllable of Kinh language of Mu Thau hamlet. So, according to statistics, the system of phonetic sounds of Mu Thau hamlet has 15 vowel sounds as main sounds, they are: [ ie ], [ ɯɤ ], [ uo ], [ i ], [ e ], [ ε ], [ ɯ ], [ ɤ ], [ a ], [ u ], [ o ], [ ɔ: ], [ ɔ ], [ ɤˇ ], [ ă ]. + Back sound: System of phonetics of Kinh language of Mu Thau hamlet has 6 consonants as back sounds: [ -p ], [ -t ], [ -k ], [ -m ], [ -n ], [ -ŋ ]. Kinh language of Mu Thau hamlet has more than one vowel [ ɔ: ] comparing with Vietnamese. Current system of Vietnamese phonetics includes 22 phonemes as initial consonants: [ t'], [ t ], [ ʈ ], [ c ], [ k ], [ ʔ ], [ b ], [ d ], [ m ], [ n ], [ ɲ ], [ ŋ ], [ f ], [ s ], [ ʂ ], [ χ ], [ h ], [ v ], [ z ], [ ʐ ], [ ɣ ], [ l ]; The Kinh language of Mu Thau hamlet has 19 phonemes as initial consonants: [ ʔ ], [ k ], [ ŋ ], [ ɲ ], [ t ], [ b ] , [ d ] , [ m ] , [ n ] , [ s ] , [ h ] , [ v ] , [ r ] , [ l ], [ t' ], [ c ], [ ɣ ], [ f ], [ z ]. Therefore, Vietnamese language is more than Kinh language of Mu Thau hamlet 3 phonemes: [ ʈ ], [ ʂ ], [ χ ]. Our thesis will contribute for researchers on phonetics of King nation, China, and help explain the history of Vietnamese language. 12.
