Summary of the thesis results: Chapter 1 of the thesis presented some theoretical issues related to the topic, including the issue of speech acts, imperative acts in general, and suggestion acts in Vietnamese in particular. Suggestion acts are studied in close relationship with imperative acts, and are also considered in relation to politeness. This theoretical basis will serve as the foundation and direction for the research of the entire thesis. Chapter 2 of the thesis presents criteria for identifying suggestion acts in Vietnamese and methods for identifying suggestion acts in Vietnamese. Each speech act has its own unique characteristics and can assert its independent existence within a set of acts. To identify a suggestion act or any other act, one should not rely on just one criterion but on the overall set of criteria and compare it with other acts. Regarding the act of requesting, we can see that, in addition to the common characteristics of imperative acts such as directing the utterance towards performing an action, desiring a response, and containing certain formal signs, we also point out a certain separation between it and surrounding acts such as requesting, advising, inviting, and asking for favors. Chapter 3 of this thesis presents the methods of expressing the act of requesting in Vietnamese, including direct and indirect methods of expression. The direct method of expressing the act of requesting includes explicit and primary utterances. There are also semi-explicit utterances. Explicit, semi-explicit, and primary means of indicating illocutionary force can be combined in the K1 structure. Semi-primary utterances do not appear to express the act of requesting. The indirect method of expressing the act of requesting includes interrogative-request utterances and declarative-request utterances. To identify them, one must infer meaning based on context and semantics. Indirect suggestion utterances enhance politeness, persuasiveness, and diversify methods and forms of expression, thereby developing people's thinking and communication abilities in society. For each mode of expression, we compare utterances expressing the act of suggesting with other similar acts of requesting, in order to draw a clear distinction between them and to highlight the typical characteristics of the act of suggesting. 11. Summary of the findings of the thesis: Chapter 1 of this thesis we have presented some issues related to theoretical topics, including issues of speech acts, request act and proposal act in the Vietnamese. Proposal act are closely related to request act and closely related to politeness. The rationale for this will be the foundation and direction for the whole thesis research. Chapter 2 of the thesis, we propose criteria to identify proposal act in Vietnameses and identify methods proposal act in Vietnamese. Each speech act both has unique characteristics. To identify them must be based on multiple criteria and to compare this action with other actions. Proposal act has common characteristics of request act, eg: Speaker wants listeners must implement an action, wants listeners respond and signs of certain forms. But we also find that proposal act has differences with other actions Chapter 3 of the thesis, we present the expression modes of proposal act in Vietnamese, including direct and indirect modes of expression. Direct modes of expression include speech of clear proposal and unclear. They can be combined together in K1 structure. Indirect modes of expression include speech of question - proposal and narrative - proposal. In order to identify them, we have to rely on context and semantics. Indirect modes of expression help increase polite, persuasive and varied methods and forms of expression and then develop thinking and communication in human society. we make a comparison between proposal act and other request act to point out certain boundaries between them and to see the typical characteristics of the proposal act.
