Summary of the results of the thesis: In Chapter 1 of the thesis, we presented a number of theoretical issues related to the topic, including the issue of speech acts, imperative acts in general and requesting acts in Vietnamese in particular. Requesting acts are studied in close relationship with imperative acts, and this act is also considered in relationship with politeness. This theoretical basis will be the foundation and research orientation for the entire thesis. In Chapter 2 of the thesis, we present criteria for identifying requesting acts in Vietnamese and methods for identifying requesting acts in Vietnamese. Each speech act has its own characteristics and can assert its independent existence in a set of actions. To identify a requesting act or any other action, it is not only based on one criterion but also on the totality of criteria and put in comparison between this action and that action. Regarding the act of suggestion, we can see that, in addition to the common characteristics of the act of request such as directing the utterance to perform an action, wishing for a reply, containing certain formal signs... we also point out a certain isolation between it and surrounding actions such as requesting, advising, inviting, asking for favors... In Chapter 3 of the Thesis, we present the methods of expressing the act of suggestion in Vietnamese, including direct methods of expression and indirect methods of expression. The direct method of expressing the act of suggestion includes explicit propositional utterances and primary propositional utterances. In addition, there are semi-explicit propositional utterances. Explicit, semi-explicit and primary propositional means of indicating the central force can be combined with each other in the K1 structure. Semi-primary propositional utterances do not appear to express the act of suggestion. The indirect method of expressing the act of suggestion includes interrogative-suggestive utterances and declarative-suggestive utterances. To identify them, we must go through the reasoning operation based on context and semantics. Indirect requesting utterances help increase politeness, persuasiveness and diversify the methods and forms of expression, thereby developing the thinking and communication abilities of people in society. In each method of expression, we make a comparison between utterances expressing the act of requesting and utterances expressing other imperative acts that are close to this act in order to draw a certain boundary between them and to see the typical characteristics of the act of requesting. 11. Summary of the findings of the thesis: Chapter 1 of this thesis we have presented some issues related to theoretical topics, including issues of speech acts, request act and proposal act in the Vietnamese. Proposal act are closely related to request act and closely related to politeness. The rationale for this will be the foundation and direction for the whole thesis research. Chapter 2 of the thesis, we propose criteria to identify proposal act in Vietnameses and identify methods proposal act in Vietnamese. Each speech act both has unique characteristics. To identify them must be based on multiple criteria and to compare this action with other actions. Proposal act has common characteristics of request act, eg: Speaker wants listeners must implement an action, wants listeners respond and signs of certain forms. But we also find that proposal act has differences with other actions Chapter 3 of the thesis, we present the expression modes of proposal act in Vietnamese, including direct and indirect modes of expression. Direct modes of expression include speech of clear proposal and unclear. They can be combined together in K1 structure. Indirect modes of expression include speech of question - proposal and narrative - proposal. In order to identify them, we have to rely on context and semantics. Indirect modes of expression help increase polite, persuasive and varied methods and forms of expression and then develop thinking and communication in human society. we make a comparison between proposal act and other request act to point out certain boundaries between them and to see the typical characteristics of the proposal act.
