10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis has researched and clarified three main points: the theoretical and practical basis of neutral foreign policy; the process of forming neutral foreign policy in European countries; and the transformation of neutral policy after the Cold War. The research results have clarified the factors influencing and the changes in the foreign policy of several European countries in the post-Cold War period.
Based on the theoretical framework of international relations and issues of neutral foreign policy, this thesis has identified three important factors: geopolitical position, international recognition, and domestic consensus, which significantly contribute to the success of a neutral policy. Furthermore, research shows that this policy is primarily applied in small and medium-sized countries.
The end of the Cold War marked a significant shift in the world order. The bipolar world order collapsed, alliances and partnerships intensified, and neutral nations could not remain outside this trend. Joining these alliances created complexities and contradictions in explaining and maintaining neutrality, but these neutral nations skillfully adapted and persuaded the major powers to accept their policies as widely accepted within the organization.
Furthermore, in essence, the policy adjustments of these neutral nations in the post-Cold War period have resulted in their current neutrality being merely active neutrality and military neutrality. Evidence of this is their avoidance of explicit and full commitment to military alliances such as NATO. Simultaneously, these neutral nations focus on economic development and strengthening their defense capabilities to ensure continued neutrality in the face of external pressures.
11. Practical applications:
The entire research findings of this thesis are immediately applicable in practice. The results help to strengthen the database and research information on the foreign policy of countries in general, and more specifically, on neutrality policies and those of some European countries. The thesis also compiles information, providing assessments and comments on measures to adjust foreign policy. Furthermore, the conclusions of the thesis are synthesized, analyzed, and evaluated from reliable historical events over a long period; therefore, the thesis will also contribute to promoting the development of relations between Vietnam and the EU, and between Vietnam and individual European countries.
12. Future research directions:
Based on the research findings from this thesis, the research direction of this topic could be expanded to analyze neutral foreign policy in general, from the theoretical and practical aspects of international relations theories. Furthermore, the topic could be expanded to include other neutral countries in Europe or other regions. Finally, and importantly, due to the relatively large number of research subjects, the thesis provides a relatively comprehensive overview but has the drawback of not delving deeply into the details of each country. It also fails to offer specific predictions, hypotheses, and possible future scenarios for neutral countries. Therefore, further, more in-depth research on these topics is needed.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis: ..............................................................................
Thesis researched 3 contents: theoretical and practical basis of the neutral policy; the history of neutral European countries l's foreign policy and the changes in policy after the Cold War. All of these clarify the overall of impact factors along with the changes in the foreign policies of some European countries in the post-Cold War period.
Based on the theoretical framework of international relations and the issues of foreign policy neutrality, the thesis has been shown to be three important elements: the geopolitical position, the recognition of international and domestic consensus. These make an important contribution to the success of a neutral policy. At the same time, practical studies show that this policy is applied mainly in the small and medium countries.
The end of the Cold War made a major change in international relations. The international coalition activities are increasing, the neutral countries are not able to stay out of that trend. As a result, there are many questions about the impasses and contradictions in the interpretation and maintaining neutral status. However, the neutral nations have sought to cleverly adjust as well as improve powers to convince their policies to be accepted.
The adjustment of the national policy of neutrality in the Cold War period led to the current neutrality policy being only militarily neutral. They all avoided engaging clearly and fully in the military alliance as the Commonwealth of NATO's North Atlantic. At the same time, the neutral country focuses on economic development as well as strengthening the defense capability to ensure continued neutral state before the external pressure.
The research results of thesis have practical applicability right away. The result enhances database construction, materials research information about the foreign policy of other countries, specifically, a neutral policy and some specific European countries. It also synthesizes information, evaluates and makes comments on the measures to regulate foreign policy. In addition, the conclusions of thesis originate from the actual historical events so it will also contribute to the promotion of the development of the relationship between Vietnam-EU, Vietnam each European country.
Based on the results from research thesis, this issue can be extended the analysis of the neutrality foreign policy within the framework of international relations theory. In addition, the research directions can choose other neutral countries in the European region, or other regions. Last but not least, because a number of neutral countries studied are many, it not only creates a relatively comprehensive, but also not deeply clarifies details, objects of each country. Furthermore, the thesis has not provided projections, assumptions and specific capabilities that may occur in the future of the neutral country. Therefore there should be further research, in-depth about this content.
