Summary of the results of the thesis: The increasingly strong development of foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam has been making many important contributions to the socio-economic development of the country, creating many jobs and incomes for workers, while also raising many issues of concern regarding labor relations in enterprises. Besides the positive aspects, labor relations in foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam today also have many issues that need attention. More and more problems arise between foreign employers and Vietnamese workers, leading to labor disputes, collective work stoppages and strikes. The cause of the above situation is due to disputes over rights, or disputes over interests, or disputes over both rights and interests between employees and employers. And labor relations in foreign-invested enterprises are becoming one of the sensitive and hot issues of localities. The official subjects of labor relations are making great efforts to establish and consolidate a new labor relations process and system to be able to handle the conflicting interests between employees and employers in an orderly and systematic manner, through collective bargaining and social dialogue at different levels. The reform of labor relations through negotiation has been, is and will be paid more attention and promoted more strongly in the coming time because the subjects in labor relations have become more deeply aware of the importance of building a healthy, harmonious, stable, progressive labor relations system and have begun or are planning to implement positive moves to improve labor relations through negotiation. Paying more attention to the issue of enhancing negotiations in labor relations in foreign-invested areas in each province is also an important driving force to develop production and business, improve labor productivity, bring benefits to both sides as well as create social stability in general. Choosing a case study at a Korean-invested enterprise (DS International Co., Ltd.) and a Japanese-invested enterprise (Brother Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd.) for research, the thesis has honestly reflected the current situation of employment, wages, social insurance and other working conditions of workers in the two above-mentioned enterprises, and also clearly understood the wishes and aspirations of the subjects in labor relations from the other subject in labor relations. The thesis also describes the current situation of the relationship between the subjects in labor relations; the negotiation methods/agreement mechanisms between the parties in labor relations to achieve harmony and stability in labor relations. On that basis, the thesis makes some predictions about the trend of labor relations in foreign-invested enterprises in the coming time. From the current situation of labor relations negotiation in foreign-invested enterprises, the thesis makes some recommendations for the State, employers, employees and trade unions to strengthen labor relations negotiation in foreign-invested enterprises in order to build increasingly harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
