10. Summary of thesis results:

Recently, the majority of borrowed words in Vietnamese are borrowed words from the Indo-European language family. Although the process of contact between Vietnamese and Indo-European languages ​​began quite late, the trend of borrowing from these languages ​​has not only not decreased but has increased. Since the 1990s, the Internet has begun to develop and 90% of information on the Internet is written in English. This is the main source of borrowed words in Vietnamese in the fields of culture, science and even in daily communication. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of cultural exchange and foreign ideas in Vietnamese thinking. The Internet is an effective environment for influencing public opinion, and language is one of the first areas to be influenced, and is a sign of the level of exchange and the area of ​​penetration into Vietnamese culture. This study also analyzes how borrowed words are adapted into Vietnamese.

This topic has historical value because this research paper will analyze newly borrowed words to see which words Vietnamese needed in the past but did not have, sociological value because it studies which language and country have the greatest influence on Vietnamese culture, society and philosophy, and linguistic value because this paper will analyze the changes of Vietnamese through the ages.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

A big part of lexical borrowings in modern Vietnamese language is derived from languages ​​of Indo-European origin. Even though the process of interaction between Vietnamese language and the Indo-European languages ​​has begun quite late it is becoming more and more active every day.

The Internet started becoming widely since the 1990s with English being the most used language. Nowadays 90% of information on the Internet is written in English and the World Wide Web is the main source of foreign words in Vietnamese language.

This research is aimed to evaluate the level of cultural and language exchange between Vietnamese people and other countries. The Internet is an effective way to influence people's minds with language being one of the first leverage, so by analyzing the amount of borrowings as well as what kind of fields this borrowed words belong to. This research also aims to analyze how borrowed lexics act and change in Vietnamese language.

11. Practical applicability:

This research has a historical value as it is analyzing new words to find out what kind of words were lacking in Vietnamese language throughout the history. It has value for the social sciences field as it analyzes what countries and languages ​​had the most influence on Vietnamese culture, philosophical views and society. It is also valuable for linguistics as it analyzes how Vietnamese language has changed over time.
