Clarifying the historical and cultural value of old apartment complexes will answer questions about their impact on society and the times, the legacies they leave behind, and thus set forth the task of preserving, restoring, repairing, upgrading, and most importantly, retaining these "historical witnesses" that exist with Hanoi. Once we have accurately and correctly assessed the role and value of these apartment complexes, along with the memories associated with many generations of Hanoians, we will appreciate them more and feel proud when mentioning and remembering these residential areas. Therefore, this thesis partly helps people to always remember and cherish the beauty and cultural values ​​of the past, so that they can consciously preserve and appreciate achievements, promote traditions, and contribute to building a modern capital city worthy of its position and stature in the era of strong, comprehensive, and synchronized national renewal, industrialization, modernization, and deep international integration.

10. Practical applications:

From the research findings on old apartment complexes in general and the Trung Tu complex in particular, practical applications regarding the recognition of historical and cultural values ​​will be clearly defined. Furthermore, it will foster appreciation for the heritage of the past among residents, not only those living in old apartment complexes but also those who lived during the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. This will lead to appropriate steps in preservation, maintenance, upgrading, or repair, as the long history of these apartment buildings inevitably leads to deterioration.

11. Future research directions:

Based on the specific case study of the Trung Tu apartment complex and the general overview of old apartment complexes in Hanoi, future research will focus on evaluating, analyzing, and comparing areas related to housing policy, the preservation of cultural and historical values ​​of housing across different periods, social classes, urban lifestyles, and psychology.

As the results that achieved from the Master Thesis of doing the research on the old collective living quarters in Hanoi in general and Trung Tu Quarter in particular, the practical applications about conceiving the cultural and spritual history will be clearly formed. Besides, they will make people not only living in the collective quarter but also Hanoians who lived in the period 1970s-1980s-1990s appreciate the heritages belonging to the past and lead to the right way in preserving, keeping as well as maintaining and upgrading the old living quarters because those buildings were built a long time ago and the downgrade condition occurred.

12. Further research directions, if any:

From research of the case study of Trung Tu Quarter and generalizing about the old living quarters in Hanoi, in the future, the further research directions will be formed and followed deeply in evaluating, analyzing, comparing fields related to housing policies, issues of housing preservation with the cutural and historical values ​​throught different periods, the social class, urban lifestyle, social psychology…
