First, this thesis provides an overview of JICA and the current state of JICA's activities in Vietnam from 1992 to the present. Based on this, the author assesses the role of JICA to identify both its positive aspects and existing limitations in the Vietnam-Japan cooperation relationship. Finally, the thesis will offer some recommendations and solutions for effectively utilizing, maintaining, and maximizing the immense potential of ODA provided by Japan to Vietnam, while simultaneously elevating the strategic cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

Finally, the thesis proposes some main solutions to improve the role of JICA in socio – economic development in Vietnam as well as Vietnam – Japan strategic partnership in the future.
