First of all, the thesis introduces an overview of JICA and the current status of JICA activities implemented in Vietnam from 1992 to present. Based on that, the author evaluates the role of JICA to see the positive aspects as well as the remaining limitations in the Vietnam - Japan cooperation relationship. Finally, the topic will provide some recommendations and solutions in effectively using, maintaining and maximizing the great potential of ODA that Japan provides to Vietnam while raising the strategic cooperation relationship between the two countries to a new level.

The thesis will be a reference for students majoring in international relations, Japanese studies... and for those interested in issues related to Japan's ODA as well as Vietnam - Japan relations from 1992 to present and in the future.

Finally, the thesis proposes some main solutions to improve the role of JICA in socio – economic development in Vietnam as well as Vietnam – Japan strategic partnership in the future.
