10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis provides an overview of the international and regional context in Southeast Asia, US policy towards the region and Myanmar, as well as changes in Myanmar's domestic and foreign policies that impacted US relations with Myanmar during the period 1990-2015. It also clarifies Myanmar's position and role relative to major powers, particularly the US and China, and the US relationship with Myanmar before 1990.
This thesis clarifies the state of US-Myanmar relations from 1990 to 2009, and the transformation in bilateral relations across the political-diplomatic, economic-trade, and security-military fields from 2009 to 2015.
The thesis also points out several impacts (both positive and negative) of the US-Myanmar relationship between 1990 and 2015 on the situation in Myanmar and the US (in the political-diplomatic, economic, and defense-security fields), and on Myanmar's relations with ASEAN and China. At the same time, it provides a forecast of the trend in US-Myanmar relations after 2015.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
This thesis presents about the overview of international and Southeast Asia situation, the policy of the United State to this region and Myanmar; changes in internal, external policies of Myanmar which impact on the relationship between the US and Myanmar during 1990 – 2015. The thesis also prescribes position and role of Myanmar in relations with other powers, especially US, China and the relation between US and Myanmar before 1990s.
The thesis makes clear about the US – Myanmar relations during 1990-2009, and its progresses in politic – diplomacy, economy – trade and security – military section in 2009-2015 period.
The thesis also mentions several impacts (positive and negative) of the US and Myanmar relation in 1990-2015 on situation of the US and Myanmar (including politic – diplomacy, economy – trade and security – military), the relation between Myanmar and ASEAN and China. At the same time, it brings some forecasts about the trend in the US – Myanmar relations in the future.
