10. Summary of thesis results:
The trainees conducted in-depth research, interviews and surveys on gender equality, status and challenges of poor rural women, showing that poor women's awareness of gender equality and the status of women in the family is limited. Most women do not clearly understand the issue of gender equality and their status in the family, especially in accessing credit. To help poor women be confident and develop their potential, the trainees, together with the Women's Association and poor women in the commune, organized group activities for poor women.
The results obtained by the trainees have reflected to some extent the reality of poverty and the position of poor rural women, especially the position of women in the family in accessing loans, in implementing and making decisions as well as the right to discuss and debate in the family. From the results of in-depth interviews and document research, it is shown that women are mainly unaware of their potential, highly valuing the role of their husbands but downplaying their own role. On the contrary, the husband underestimates the role of his wife when participating in family issues.
Currently, in Dong Luong commune, there are no social work activities, the activities of the village and hamlet such as monthly village and hamlet meetings have not been effective and have not been long-term. Therefore, applying the intervention measures of group social work through the group work process according to this method is completely suitable for the conditions in the commune. With this approach, the initial results are quite successful, the set goals have been achieved to a certain extent, we would like to propose a model of group social work with poor women to help them clearly understand the causes of their poverty, what are the consequences, helping them raise awareness and promote their own potential.
