In recent years, the soft power factor has become increasingly important in diplomatic activities. Enhancing the level of soft power has expanded from culture, education, science and technology... to pluralistic methods such as sports.
Sports diplomacy has been a part of China's diplomatic history, helping China overcome obstacles and creating a rhythm for China to connect with the world through the language of sports. Sports diplomacy is a good way to enhance soft power. It can help a country change from a major participant in world sports to a major participant in international diplomacy. Moreover, sports represent "peace, friendship, and progress", so sports diplomacy is loved by people around the world.
China must seize the opportunity of the development of sports diplomacy, through effective measures to continuously adjust the sports diplomacy strategy, promote the development of sports diplomacy in a better direction, make sports diplomacy better serve the overall diplomatic goal of building a harmonious world, and ultimately enhance China's soft power.
11. Practical application:
This thesis will contribute to the theoretical research on sports diplomacy and China's soft power, create favorable conditions for promoting China's image, increasing its speaking power, promoting international cooperation, developing foreign economic relations, making people-to-people relations closer, and ultimately enhancing China's soft power. At the same time, it will let people of all countries see this new diplomatic line, which has a guiding effect.
12. Further research directions:
The thesis is a research project on building China's soft power through sports diplomacy in the early 21st century. I hope to delve into China's sports diplomacy policy, especially analyzing specific documents.

In recent years, soft power has contributed more and more significantly to diplomatic activities. Enhancing soft power has occurred in many aspects such as culture, education, technical science, etc, and broadened to pluralism method like sports.
Sports diplomacy has, during the historical periods of China and by the language of sports, helped China overcome obstacles and enable China to integrate into the world. Sports diplomacy is a good method to enhance soft power and it can help a nation from a main sport participant in the world become a main international diplomatic partner. Moreover, sports represents “peace, friendship, and progress”. As a result, people all over the world are in favor of sports diplomacy.
China has to take advantages of the development of sports diplomacy and at the same time propose effective solutions to adjust strategies in sports diplomacy, which promotes the development of sports diplomacy in a better manner and enables sports diplomacy to serve the overall diplomat with a view to creating a harmonious world and lastly enhancing the soft power of China.
11. Practical applicability, if any:
The thesis can act as a supplement to theories in overall sports diplomacy and soft power of China. This can create advantageous opportunities for propagating the image of China, increasing freedom of speech, promoting the development of international cooperation and external economy as well as shortening the gap in the relationship among people of countries and enhancing the soft power of China. At the same time, the thesis shows the guiding roles of this new diplomat policy to the people of countries.

The thesis studies the building of soft power of China through sports diplomacy in early years of 21stcentury. I hope to research deeply policies in sports diplomacy of China, especially analyze specific documents.
