The thesis points out two directions of impact of witnessing domestic violence on the development of adolescents: Immediate impact and long-term impact. Regarding the immediate impact, witnessing domestic violence causes children to have negative psychological emotions leading to reduced self-esteem and becoming more self-conscious. In addition, witnessing domestic violence leads to children having deviant behaviors at school and in society. Regarding the long-term impact, witnessing domestic violence weakens the parent-child relationship and other social relationships of children and encourages children to learn and form deviant behavioral patterns in the future.
