Summary of the results of the thesis: The thesis "The trend of "modernizing" the information method in daily newspapers for young people in Vietnam" studies the information modernization method in four main aspects (content, design, social work and economic methods) of the three largest daily newspapers for young people in Vietnam today: Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre TP.HCM, Tien Phong. The research period: from 2000 - 2010 (10 years), which is also the period of transition from a serial/weekly newspaper to a daily newspaper, with many improvements in content, changes in personnel, and changes in orientation that are worth paying attention to. Before this thesis, there were a number of theses studying these three newspapers, but the topics were still small, not systematic, and often only studied a certain aspect (eg: long-term reports, the art of reporting on the 9/11 terrorist attack, cover design, etc.). This thesis is the first topic to comprehensively study the art of information and brand promotion of major daily newspapers. The thesis is conducted on the basis of: - Interviewing representatives of the Editorial Board of newspapers, including the content and design departments as well as those working in economics and event organization. - Interviewing a number of experts/long-time readers of newspapers to get objective opinions. - Researching through data, surveys on readers' needs, newspaper sales, distribution efficiency, communication efficiency through events organized by newspapers... From there, we can draw out the methods of modernizing information, the art of journalism and promoting the brand of Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre City, Tien Phong - the pioneers in modern Vietnamese journalism for many years. 11. Practical applicability: The author of the thesis wishes and hopes that the thesis will truly make theoretical contributions and be applied in practice. Survey subject: 3 biggest daily newspapers for the youth in Vietnam: Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Phong. Survey time frame: From 2000 – 2010 (10 years). In this period is the transition process from periodicals to daily newspapers of these 3 newspapers with important change in design, human source and content orientation. Prior to this thesis, there were few study works on the 3 newspapers. But they were narrow and unsystematic on a certain field (For example: Serial of reports, informing art in the event of 9/11, front page design). This is the first thesis comprehensively studying the ways of information supply, and marketing of the 3 Youth newspaper. The thesis is implemented by: - ​​Interviewing representatives of editor boards, including department of design, content and business and events organizing. - Interviewing loyal experts/readers for objective opinions. - Studying data, readers demand survey, revenue, communication effects…. All of these methods aim at finding out the means to modernize information, journalism art, and branding of Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Phong – the vanguards of Vietnam journalism for many years. 11.
