10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis focuses on recreating the picture of French irrigation work in Vinh Yen province from the 1890s to before the August Revolution (1945), a period for which there had been no systematic and comprehensive research.
The thesis has compiled primary and secondary documents related to the research problem. In addition to clarifying the contents related to irrigation in Vinh Yen province, the thesis also clarifies the investment policies of the French colonialists in Vinh Yen province in the late 19th and early 20th centuries regarding the economy and society.
Although the research paper on irrigation in Vinh Yen province was written more than a century ago, many contents and lessons learned about flood control, irrigation, and the supply and distribution of irrigation water for fields still retain their theoretical and practical value, especially for a country like Vietnam where agriculture plays a dominant role in the economy.

Practical applications: The research results of this thesis will supplement research materials on the history of Vinh Yen province, later Vinh Phuc province, during the pivotal period of modern Vietnamese history, contributing to clarifying the socio-economic situation of Vinh Yen province in particular, the Northern region and Vietnam in general during the modern period.

The thesis focuses on recreating the overview of irrigation work of the French in Vinh Yen province from the 90s of the 19th century until the August Revolution (1945). Before this, there has not been a systematic and thorough study before. The thesis has gathered primary documents and secondary documents related to the research topic. In addition to clarifying the contents related to irrigation in Vinh Yen province, the thesis also clarifies the investment policies by the French colonialists in Vinh Yen province in the late 19th century and early 20th century in terms of the economy and society.
Although the research focuses on irrigation in Vinh Yen province in the past, which is more than a century old now, but many contents and lessons learned about water treatment, irrigation, supplying water to the fields and distribution of water for the fields still remain valuable in terms of theory and practice, especially for a country where the agricultural economy plays a key role like Vietnam.

Practical applicability, if any: The research results of the thesis will add to the literature on the history of Vinh Yen province, later Vinh Phuc province in the pivotal period of near-modern Vietnamese history. The thesis also contributes to clarifying the socio-economic situation of Vinh Yen province in particular, the Tonkin region and Vietnam in general in the near-modern period.
