The Congress listened to the Report evaluating the Party branch's leadership in implementing the Resolution of the Party Branch Congress for the 2022-2025 term. Accordingly, as of February 2025, the Party branch of the Faculty of International Studies has 23 Party members, including 7 staff members and 16 student members.
The Party cell strictly adheres to the principle of comprehensive Party leadership over organizational and personnel matters, making decisions on important issues within the Faculty. In implementing the policy of opening new training programs, the Party cell of the Faculty of International Studies has continued to develop the staff for the IDS Department and is currently building a new curriculum framework, adjusting the undergraduate International Studies curriculum. It continues to implement the plan to improve the quality of training for the high-quality International Studies program (TT23); develops curricula according to economic and technical standards, and achieves enrollment results exceeding assigned targets.
To date, the faculty has 16 out of 17 lecturers with a PhD or higher, accounting for 94.12%. Young staff members are encouraged and given opportunities to register for or participate in scientific research projects, and to teach courses in English (at the undergraduate level); the training of young staff members continues through various forms. The faculty has continued to implement specialized teaching in English from the 2015-2016 academic year to the present with relatively good results.
The report also highlighted some limitations and their causes, lessons learned, tasks, solutions, and key indicators for successfully completing the plan and tasks of the new term.
Comrade Tran Thien Thanh - Secretary of the Party Branch - presented the report evaluating the leadership work of the Party Branch in implementing the Resolution of the Party Branch Congress for the 2022-2025 term and the self-assessment report of the Party Branch Committee.
At the congress, delegates discussed and reached a high level of consensus on the goals and directions for the 2025-2027 term. Specifically, the Party Branch will effectively implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, of Hanoi National University, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; continue to innovate the Party Branch's leadership methods towards strengthening democratic practices and promoting collective intelligence, building a clean and strong Party Branch. The unit will effectively lead the implementation of training and scientific research tasks, aiming for increasingly higher quality; and coordinate with the Faculty to further develop the Faculty's human resources, focusing on continuous development in teaching, scientific research, policy consulting, and community service.
The Faculty of International Studies continues to improve its personnel structure to meet the requirements of its development; continues to plan for its staff and management team; enhances the quality of training, improves teaching methods, and strengthens the development of learning materials through the compilation of new materials and the upgrading of lectures and textbooks. In addition, the Faculty is also committed to successfully implementing the AUN accreditation of the Master's program in International Relations and opening new academic programs.
Comrade Ngo Tuan Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch - presented a summary report of opinions on the draft documents submitted to the Congress and the documents of the Party Congress of the University for the 2025-2030 term.
The Congress listened to the Party Committee's self-assessment report; the summary report of opinions on the draft documents submitted to the Congress and the documents of the University Party Committee Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Delegates attending the Congress discussed and contributed many opinions to the political reports; cast secret ballots and unanimously elected the Party Committee for the 2025-2027 term; elected delegates to the University Party Committee Congress and adopted the Congress Resolution. Accordingly, the Party Committee of the Faculty of International Studies for the 2025-2027 term includes: Comrade Tran Thien Thanh as Secretary of the Party Committee, Comrade Ngo Tuan Thang as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; and Comrade Le Lena as a Party Committee member.
