University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

At the invitation of the City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh led a delegation from the University, including Dr. Tran Thuy Anh (Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation) and Dr. Bui Thanh Nam (Deputy Head of the Faculty of International Studies), to visit and discuss cooperation on April 16 and 17, 2012.

To commemorate 10 years of cooperation and development between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Rosa Luxemburg Institute (Federal Republic of Germany), the Center for Policy Research and Analysis (CEPSTA) of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as the official implementing unit for cooperation projects, organized commemorative activities from April 19th to April 20th, 2012.

From March 27th to 31st, 2012, a delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, visited and worked with several scientific institutions and organizations in Taiwan: Fu Jen University (Taipei), the Institute of Social Sciences – National Taiwan University, the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, and National Kaohsiung University (Kaohsiung City).

On March 20, 2012, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh - Vice Rector of the University, along with the leaders of the Faculty of Political Science, the Department of Scientific Research Management, and the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation, met and worked with Dr. Eva Hansson - Lecturer in the Faculty of Political Science, Stockholm University (Sweden).

On February 8, 2012, the Ambassador of Argentina to Vietnam, Mr. Alberto Jaime Kaminker, visited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, the Rector of the University, received and held a working meeting with the Ambassador.

On February 2, 2012, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, Rector of the University, met and worked with Professor Chung Sok Suh, Director of the Institute of Korean Studies at the University of New South Wales (Australia). During the meeting, leaders from both sides discussed plans for cooperation in organizing an international conference on Korean Studies, scheduled to take place at the end of August 2012 in Hanoi, with the participation of leading universities in Southeast Asia, the Central Institute of Korean Studies, and the Korea Foundation.

On February 2nd, 2012, Professor Edward Bryan Tick held an exchange of experiences with lecturers from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, Psychology, and experts from the Institute of Psychology on the topic: Post-war psychological disorder of veterans and their families (PTSD) and the role of media in this issue.

At the invitation of universities in New Zealand and Australia, a delegation from the university, led by Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector - visited and worked with Auckland University of Technology, Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) and the University of New SouthWales (Australia) from December 10th to 16th, 2011.

On December 15, 2011, a delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, led by Dr. Vu Ngoc Mien - Vice Rector - visited and worked at the university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, along with representatives from the university's faculties, departments, and centers, received and worked with the delegation.

On November 23rd, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Vice Rector – along with the Dean and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management, received and worked with a delegation from the International Association of French-speaking countries' archives, led by Mr. Claude De Moreau – President of the Association.

On November 17, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, had the honor of welcoming Mr. David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, to visit and participate in the "Multiculturalism" seminar as part of his state visit at the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang.

On the morning of November 17, 2011, as part of his state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang, the Governor General of Canada, David Lloyd Johnston, visited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and attended a seminar on "Multiculturalism" at the University.

On November 18, 2011, immediately following the signing of the cooperation agreement between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Graduate School of Culture, University of Tokyo, the opening ceremony of the Japan Research Support Program Office was held.

On November 18th, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University and Professor Hasegawa Toshikazu - Dean of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Cultural Studies and President of the University of Tokyo, Japan - signed a cooperation agreement between the two universities.
