University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

On the afternoon of January 15, 2013, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh – Vice Rector – met and worked with the International Institute for Japanese Culture Studies (Nichibunken), led by Professor Shirahata Yozaburo. During the meeting, both sides exchanged ideas on coordinating activities such as workshops and seminars this year.

The UniReport journal of the University of Frankfurt (Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main), Germany (issue dated October 12, 2012) published a highly positive commentary on the visit and work of Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, the Rector, and expressed expectations for future cooperation and training between the two universities.

On the afternoon of December 14, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a cooperation agreement with the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation (Federal Republic of Germany) on strengthening dialogue in the field of international relations and international cooperation. Specifically, the two sides will implement activities in many areas of international relations, including: capacity building activities at various levels; research and publications; exchange programs; and organizing national and international conferences.

On December 13, 2012, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University – held a meeting and working session with a delegation from Dong Hoa University (Taiwan), led by Vice President Chia-Liang Cheng.

Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa – Vice Rector of the University – received and worked with a delegation from Guangxi Academy of Economics and Finance, led by Professor Hoang Hieu Hong – Vice Rector, who visited and worked at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on December 7, 2012.

On December 11, 2012, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the University, met and worked with Mr. Quach Phung Dieu, Head of the Science Department, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office.

On the morning of December 6, 2012, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the University, met and worked with Professor Lori A. Forman from the Asia-Pacific Security Research Center (Honolulu, Hawaii, USA). During the meeting, Professor Lori A. Forman expressed her desire to collaborate with Vietnamese agencies, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to organize an international conference on security in Central Vietnam.

On December 5, 2012, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, along with representatives from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, received Mr. Shoji Sato, representative of the Association for Bookkeeping Promotion in Vietnam (ABPV).

On the afternoon of November 5, 2012, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector) received and held a working meeting with Mr. Richard Cowin, Political Counselor of the British Embassy.

On November 26, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Korea University of Cultural Heritage signed a cooperation agreement, marking an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two universities.

During her visit to Vietnam, Ms. Janece Charette (Cabinet Secretary and Undersecretary for Intergovernmental Affairs of Canada) visited and spoke with faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on November 23, 2012.

On November 22, 2012, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University – held a meeting and working session with a delegation of officials from the Academy of Commerce of Yunnan University (China), led by Vice President Ha Phuc Toan.

A memorandum of cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Daegu University (South Korea) was signed on November 12, 2012.

At the invitation of Hawaii Pacific University (Hawaii, USA) and the World Historical Society, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the university - led a delegation including Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of History, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Le, Head of the Department of Vietnamese History, and Dr. Tran Thuy Anh, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation and Training Department, to visit and work in Hawaii (USA) from October 28 to November 2, 2012.

On October 3, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities officially signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Commerce, Restaurant, Hotel and Tourism Services under the Budapest University of Economics (Hungary).
