On September 5th, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a welcoming ceremony and enrollment process for new students of the QH-2012-X cohort. By the end of the afternoon, 1044 students had completed the enrollment procedures, representing 86.28% of the students admitted through their first-choice application.

On September 4, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a conference for all faculty and staff. Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - along with representatives from the leadership of various functional departments of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities announces the schedule for the weekly student civic education session and visit to the traditional exhibition hall for students of the QH-2012-X cohort.

On July 27, 2012, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector - received Mr. Takeshi Hama - General Representative of AEON Group (Japan).

"Promoting the cultural and historical heritage of Thang Long" is one of the new volunteer activities in the 2012 summer volunteer campaign of Hanoi's youth and students. The volunteer team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities promoting the cultural and historical heritage of Thang Long has over 80 members from the faculties of Linguistics, Tourism Studies, Oriental Studies, and International Studies, divided into 6 volunteer teams at tourist destinations in and around Hanoi, including the Temple of Literature, Ngoc Son Temple, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Co Loa historical site in Dong Anh, Soc Son Temple historical site, and the temple of Empress Y Lan in Gia Lam.

During the 2012 summer volunteer campaign, student volunteers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continued their work in Soc Son district (Hanoi). This year, three teams operated in three disadvantaged communes: Kim Lu, Duc Hoa, and Dong Xuan, from July 15th to August 5th.

To commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2012), on July 26, 2012, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union and the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) organized a visit and presented gifts to the Center for the Care of Severely Injured and Sick Soldiers in Liem Can Commune (Thanh Liem District - Ha Nam Province) and the Center for the Rehabilitation of Severely Injured and Sick Soldiers in Nho Quan District (Ninh Binh Province). This is a deeply meaningful humanitarian activity that the University organizes annually to express gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of war invalids and sick soldiers.

On the morning of June 28, 2012, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to commend and reward students who are children of the university's staff and faculty members and achieved the title of excellent student in the 2011-2012 academic year.

This morning, June 20th, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector - along with representatives from several departments, visited and congratulated the staff of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training on the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism Day.

On June 16th, the Seijong Korean Language Center in Hanoi, affiliated with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, held its closing ceremony for the fourth course and awarded certificates to over 53 students across various levels.

On April 21, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Intellectual Property Office jointly organized two events: a student scientific conference on intellectual property; and a competition for students on intellectual property. These activities were in implementation of the cooperation agreement in the field of intellectual property (IP) between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Intellectual Property Office, signed by the leaders of both sides on August 5, 2010, on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2012, and also to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Intellectual Property Office (July 29, 1982 - July 29, 2012).

To celebrate the successful conclusion of the 7th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, term 2012-2014, the Youth Union and Student Association of the university organized a festival of revolutionary song performance teams on the evening of April 20, 2012. With unique and impressive performances, the team from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication won first prize.

The certificate awarding ceremony for the short-term Persian language course (Level A) for participants from September 2011 to March 2012 took place on April 19, 2012. Among the seven students who received certificates, six were from the Faculty of Oriental Studies and one was from the Iranian Embassy in Vietnam.

On April 11, 2012, renowned photojournalist Nick Ut had a talk and interaction session with staff of the Center for Broadcasting and Communication Professional Services and journalism students.
