On March 14, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a meeting to congratulate teachers who received the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology in 2012. In the recent award ceremony, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) had the late Professor Tran Quoc Vuong and Professor Ha Minh Duc awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize; teachers Professor Doan Thien Thuat, Professor Nguyen Thien Giap, Associate Professor Nguyen Thua Hy were awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology.

From March 5 to 8, 2012, Dien Bien Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Center for Research and Development of Ethnic Minorities in Mountainous Areas and the Red River Basin - University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Hoa Mat Troi Psychology Application Company to organize a Dien Bien Provincial Youth Workshop with the 2012 New Rural Development Program and training to improve the capacity of gathering youth for grassroots Youth Union officials.

In celebration of the 102nd anniversary of International Women's Day, the Women's Union - School Trade Union organized a cooking and flower arrangement contest on the morning of Saturday, March 3, 2012. The contest attracted the participation of all departmental trade unions and hundreds of union members in the school.

On February 23, 2012, the Association of Former Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its 2nd Congress (term 2012 - 2017). Attending the Congress were representatives of the leaders of the Association of Former Teachers of VNU, the Party Committee - Board of Directors and members of the branches of the Association of Former Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On the occasion of the late Professor Tran Quoc Vuong being posthumously awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize by the State on February 18, 2012, USSH respectfully introduces an article by Professor Phan Huy Le about the man and his research on Hanoi. The article is also an introduction to the book On the sacred land of a thousand years of cultural relics - a selection of articles on the culture of Thang Long - Hanoi by Professor Tran Quoc Vuong, Hanoi Publishing House, 2010.

On February 18, 2012, the Ho Chi Minh Prize and State Prize 2010 Award Ceremony will take place. On this occasion, USSH republishes an article by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Thai about Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc - one of the 12 scientists receiving the Ho Chi Minh Prize in this period.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India (1972 - 2012), the 33rd anniversary of the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Faculty of Oriental Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with the Embassy of India and the Embassy of Iran in Vietnam organized a screening program of Indian and Iranian films.

On the occasion of the New Year of the Cat 2011, staff and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized an incense offering ceremony at the Temple of Literature and Mia Pagoda, Va Temple (Son Tay, Hanoi) on January 26, 2012, the 4th day of the Lunar New Year.

On January 31, 2012, Professor Gary Swanson had a talk and discussion with lecturers, students and trainees of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication about the issue of ethics in journalism. In addition to sharing experiences in the process of participating in journalism activities, Professor Swanson focused on discussing the issue of current journalism ethics, especially the issue of ethics for photojournalists. He gave some specific examples of photos that distorted the truth, photos in which the scene was staged by the photographer or even photos with "actors" acting... that were used by some newspapers.

On January 12, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a meeting with retired staff on the occasion of the beginning of 2012 and the Lunar New Year.

On January 11, 2012, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held an intimate meeting with veteran teachers on the occasion of the New Year of the Dragon 2012. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Party Committee Secretary and Principal of the school - chaired the meeting.

The annual dialogue between the school leaders and students of all courses was held on November 27, 2011. Attending were representatives of the Board of Directors, leaders of functional departments, faculties, departments, the Youth Union, and the Student Association of the school. Many questions were compiled and up to several dozen questions were directly raised in the hall, which were directly listened to, discussed and answered by the school leaders with the students.
