+ Research purpose
On the basis of presenting the theoretical and legal basis of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in participating in planning and implementing policies and laws on religion in our country, the thesis analyzes the current status of participation in planning and implementing policies and laws on religion of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the historical role and new role of the Front, thereby clarifying the issues that need to be resolved and proposing solutions and recommendations to contribute to improving the effectiveness of participation in planning and implementing policies and laws on religion of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

+ Research object: The position and role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the political system, led by the Party, managed by the State, the Front acts as the "core" for the people to exercise their right to mastery in planning and implementing religious policies and laws in Vietnam today.
+ Methods used: The thesis combines the use of a number of different methods to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of the information collected (real and available documents). The methods used in the thesis are specialized and interdisciplinary methods such as philosophy, religious studies, law, history, statistics, along with practical survey methods, expert methods, analysis, synthesis, comparison, experience summary, and generalization.

- General overview of policies and laws on religion in Vietnam in main aspects: The process of building policies and laws on religion in Vietnam; Planning, building and implementing religious policies and laws in building a Socialist rule of law state in Vietnam; Clarifying the political basis and legal status of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in religious policies and laws.
- Based on that theory, the thesis has applied it to practice, pointing out the current status of the participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the planning and implementation of religious policies and laws in Vietnam today in two aspects: Firstly, according to the traditional tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the following tasks: Propagating and mobilizing dignitaries, officials, monks, religious followers and people to implement the law on beliefs and religions; Gathering people who follow beliefs and religions and people who do not follow beliefs and religions to participate in building and implementing the policy of great national unity; Reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of the people, proactively proposing or participating in submitting legal documents on religions.
