10. Summary of the thesis results:
Throughout the Vietnamese revolution, the Party has consistently identified ethnic and religious affairs as a fundamental, long-term, and urgent strategic issue, and a task for the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army. The Party and State's ethnic and religious policies towards ethnic minorities aim not only to ensure political stability but also to create conditions for sustainable socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in general, and the Khmer ethnic group in particular.
Through this thesis, the student has summarized the formation and development of the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Association in the Southwestern region of Vietnam and highlighted the unique characteristics of an association closely linked to religion and nation. The student also explained the reasons why the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Association continues to exist and thrive. Furthermore, the student emphasized the Association's guiding principle in accordance with the Vietnamese Buddhist Church: "Buddhism - Nation - Socialism." During the period of reform, the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Association continues to uphold the tradition of solidarity, patriotism, and national harmony. In particular, Directive No. 19-CT/TW dated January 10, 2018, of the Party Central Committee on strengthening work in Khmer ethnic minority areas in the new situation, affirms that specific policies and guidelines on ethnic and religious affairs in Khmer ethnic minority areas have changed the appearance of villages, significantly improved the lives of the people, and the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Association has also received attention and support, operating very smoothly in Khmer ethnic minority areas.
In the thesis, the student also dedicated a chapter to forecasting the ethnic and religious situation in the Khmer community and offered recommendations for the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Association of Soc Trang province to continue promoting its role in mobilizing monks and the Khmer people in the future.
11. Practical applications:
The research results contribute to raising awareness of the position and role of the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Association in the historical process of building and defending the Fatherland; making an important contribution to implementing the policy of building national unity. This is especially true in the development of economic, social, and cultural policies, political stability, and ensuring security and order in areas with a large Khmer ethnic minority population.
This thesis can be used as a reference material in teaching, research, and professional development for presenters and officials working in the field of belief and religion.
12. Future research directions:
In the future, the author will continue to explore and research in depth the activities of the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Associations in various provinces, especially in the Mekong Delta region, to gain a comprehensive overview and compare the similarities and differences in each area of activity. Based on this, appropriate solutions will be proposed to suit the practical realities of each locality, so that the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Associations can maximize their cultural and spiritual values, as well as their material contributions, in the development of the homeland.
