(Summarize the results of the thesis, emphasizing any new findings.)
This thesis focuses on clarifying the content related to form, model, and characteristics. This thesis examines the use of pronouns and pronoun pairs in several Vietnamese language textbooks for foreigners. The research utilizes digital corpus analysis. The survey results show that communicative status, interpersonal relationships, and communication context significantly influence the identification and use of pronouns in communication, helping speakers achieve specific communicative goals. In the context of intercultural integration and communication, teachingThe use of appropriate forms of address to enhance intimacy and affection, in accordance with Vietnamese culture and mindset, is essential for foreign students.
The thesis findings also reveal that foreign students and teachers still face many difficulties due to insufficient teaching content on pronouns and the lack of adequate attention to non-standard forms of address. This is one of the bases for the thesis's proposal that Vietnamese language textbooks should provide more in-depth instruction on pronouns in Vietnamese, focusing on selective, small exercises suitable to the learners' abilities. If the knowledge imparted helps learners use different forms of address correctly and flexibly in communication, it will be key to their better integration into the native-speaking community.

This thesis can serve as a reference for research on pronouns and pronoun pairs in applied linguistics. It also offers suggestions for educators to develop further research on teaching pronouns to foreigners learning Vietnamese as a foreign language, in various communication contexts, especially intercultural contexts.

For future research, we propose a comparative and in-depth study of the cultural characteristics reflected in Vietnamese forms of address and their applicability in various communication environments, not only in daily life but also in diplomatic or other informal ceremonies.

11.Summary of the findings of the thesis:
(Summarize them with stress on the new findings, if any)
This thesis concentrates on clarifying contents related to the forms, the linguistic models, and the characteristics of the usage of terms of address separately and as in pairs, which are presented in some of the Vietnamese textbooks designed to teach foreigners. The thesis uses a methodology of digital corpus-based studies. The survey results show that communication position, interpersonal relationships, and communication situation factors have an important impact on the identification and use of the terms of address during communication, which help the speakers achieve their specific communicative goals. With trends toward integration and intercultural communication, teaching terms of address aiming at increasing the degree of friendliness and warmth according to the culture and the Vietnamese way of thinking is necessary for foreign learners.
The results from this thesis show that foreign students and teachers continue to face many difficulties because of the content in textbook for teaching terms of address is lacking. In addition, materials tend to ignore non-canonical contents and contexts. For these reasons, this thesis proposes that Vietnamese language textbooks should introduce more in-depth Vietnamese terms of address, focusing on small and selective exercises appropriate to the learner's abilities. If knowledge can be conveyed to help learners correctly and flexibly use different forms of address in communication, it will be the key for them to better integrate into the native speaker community.
12.Practical applicability, if any:
The thesis can be used as a reference for research projects on terms of address and paired terms of address in the field of applied linguistics. The thesis is also a suggestion for educators to develop further research on methodologies of teaching terms of address to foreigners learning Vietnamese as a second language in many different communication contexts, which especially also includes intercultural communication
13.Further research directions, if any:
For future research, we propose comparing and researching in-depth the cultural characteristics which are expressed in the way Vietnamese people address each other, as well as the possibilities of applying the terms of address in different communication environments, not only in the scope of daily activities but also in other situations including diplomatic protocols, or in other non-canonical situations.
