When conducting research on this topic, we aimed at the following goals:

- Firstly, while researching the issue of poetry in war novels during the renovation period, we want to highlight the atmosphere of the historical era that has passed: both majestic and fierce but extremely romantic.

- Second, we want to discover and clarify the content and form of expression of poetry in three novels written about the theme of war in specific aspects.

- Third, we want to prove that the expression of poetry is a characteristic of innovative art in the poetics of Vietnamese novels after Doi Moi.
