10. Summary of the thesis results:

The thesis topic is:Group social work for children affected by Agent Orange at the Vietnam Friendship Village.Besides the introduction, conclusion - recommendations, bibliography, and appendices, the main content of the thesis is divided into 3 chapters by the author.

Chapter 1: In this chapter, the author presents and introduces the theories applied in the research, the key concepts related to the topic, the research methods used in the study, and also provides an overview of the history of establishment, functions, tasks, and operational processes of the survey area where the research was conducted.

Chapter 2's content: Investigating the current state of understanding of group social work among staff at the Friendship Village; and how group social work has been applied to children affected by Agent Orange at the Village. In the application of group social work to the children at the Friendship Village, the author presents the application of group social work in the areas of care and nurturing; rehabilitation and functional treatment; and vocational education and training. The author also identifies the effectiveness of applying group social work to children affected by Agent Orange at the Friendship Village and the factors influencing that effectiveness. After analyzing the factors affecting the effectiveness of the group social work methods applied at the Village, the author identifies the most pressing needs of the children that group social work activities at the Village have not yet effectively addressed.

Chapter 3: Based on identifying the essential needs of children that the Village has not yet met, the author proposes intervention measures to assist children affected by Agent Orange. The author conducted an experiment using group social work methods on children affected by Agent Orange at the Vietnam Friendship Village to improve their ability to integrate into the community. As a result, after the intervention, the children were equipped with knowledge to understand their self-worth, improved communication and problem-solving skills, developed effective teamwork skills, and received career guidance and vocational training. Consequently, their awareness, attitudes, and behaviors have undergone positive changes.

11. Practical applications:

In the group social work activities for children affected by Agent Orange at the Friendship Village, alongside the advantages already achieved, there are also many difficulties. Therefore, with additional support from relevant departments, organizations, and associations, as well as the development of the capabilities of professional social workers, group social work will achieve greater effectiveness.

12. Future research directions:

Based on the results obtained from this project, my planned next research direction is: developing a group social work model for children with disabilities in Hanoi.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesisGroup Social Works for Children exposed to Agent Orange at Vietnam Friendship Village”includes three chapters, together with an introduction, conclusion – recommendations, references, appendices.

Chapter 1: This chapter introduces the theory which is applied to the study, the key concepts related to the topic, the research methods used in this thesis, and overview of the establishment, functions and responsibilities and the activities of the research areas.

Chapter 2: The main content covers the actual awareness of group social works of the Friendship Village's employees, and how the group social works for children exposed to Agent Orange at the Village has been applied. Regarding the application of group social works for children, the applications in raising and health care; treatment and rehabilitation and education and vocational training have been presented. The effects as well as drivers of such applications have also been identified. After that, the needs of children without being applied effectively have also been listed.

Chapter 3: Based on the identification of children's needs that have not been satisfied at the Village, the author recommends the support for children exposed to Agent Orange and conducts practical methods of group social works to them. As a result, they are equipped with the knowledge to understand the value of themselves, improve communication, problem solving, possess efficient team work skills, career orientation and vocational training. Thus their awareness, attitudes and behaviors have had positive changes.

11. Practical Application

In group social work for Children exposed to Agent Orange In Friendship Village, there has been a great deal of challenges besides existing achievement. Therefore, it would be more effective if group social work could be supported by related authorities and organizations.
