The thesis has clarified the following basic issues:

Provide a brief picture of craft villages in Thuong Tin district: the process of birth, history of formation, production relations and socio-economic characteristics.

Studying the case of Thuy Ung village on the history of formation and development, handicrafts in Thuy Ung village, Thuong Tin, Hanoi. The thesis also provides analysis of the advantages and difficulties in handicraft production in Thuy Ung today. From the survey and analysis results, it is possible to draw experiences from the development process in Thuy Ung and solutions to overcome difficulties in production here.

Through the research results on craft villages in the district and the case of Thuy Ung village, the topic has presented opportunities, challenges and groups of solutions for developing craft villages in Thuong Tin district in the current market mechanism.
