10. Summary of thesis results:
- Overview of the Bai Coi archaeological site, which clearly states the geographical location, natural conditions and cultural history of Nghi Xuan area, Ha Tinh, where Bai Coi relic is located. From there, we can see the advantages and disadvantages of natural conditions for the formation of an ancient cultural space. At the same time, we can see the history of the land as well as cultural traditions, adding to the picture of ancient culture in the area. In addition, we also learn about the process of discovery and research, and systematize documents about Bai Coi from the past to the present.
- Summarize the main excavation and research results, especially the 3 excavations since 2008. In which, clarify the stratigraphy, relic system and types of relics through excavations at Bai Coi. It is found that Bai Coi is a burial site with faint traces of habitation. The main types of burials are earthen graves and ceramic coffins. Relics include materials such as stone, metal, glass and ceramic.
- Explaining the nature and age through the characteristics of the relics and artifacts and the relationships with other relics. Accordingly, Bai Coi is an archaeological site of Sa Huynh culture, strongly influenced by Dong Son culture, especially with Dong Son relics in the Ca and Ma river basins. Combined with the results of C14 dating analysis, it has proven that the age of Bai Coi is from about 2200 years to 2000 years ago. In addition, the research results also lead to a change in the Sa Huynh cultural space, which is the expansion of this culture to the north (to Ha Tinh).
Thus, through this we can affirm that the Bai Coi relic has an important position in the perception of the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age in the North Central region. A change in the perception of this period in Ha Tinh belongs to the Sa Huynh cultural system, not the Dong Son culture as previously perceived. The topic has also clarified the relationship in space and time of the Bai Coi relic with the Prehistoric - Early Historical relics in Central Vietnam.
11. Practical application:
Through the research results, we see the need to preserve relics in the face of sand mining and antiquities hunting. At the same time, there are activities to promote the value of documents and artifacts in the work of displaying and propagating the cultural history of the land.
12. Further research directions:
Learn deeply about the cultural origins and development process in Bai Coi, and analyze the cultural and spiritual life of the ancient residents here.
