However, from the perspective of linguistic research, by studying the characteristics of conceptual metaphor through Quan Ho folk song lyrics from a linguistic perspective as a type of cultural activity of villages in the ancient Kinh Bac region, it helps to explore the characteristics, nature, meaning and value of folk cultural heritage in traditional society and its transformation in modern society.

The thesis applies general theories of cognitive linguistics, especially the theory of conceptual metaphor to identify and analyze conceptual metaphor models based on the source of Quan Ho songs. By analyzing specific conceptual metaphors belonging to typical categories in the field of folk songs, the thesis also aims to enrich and diversify the research on conceptual metaphors in general, and conceptual metaphors about people and love in Quan Ho folk songs in particular. 10.3. Cognitive linguistics is a trend of language research that was born and popularized in the world since the 70s of the last century. However, in Vietnam, cognitive linguistics research has only really flourished in recent years.

Conceptual metaphor is a form of human thinking about the world, an effective tool for people to conceptualize abstract concepts. The working mechanism of conceptual metaphor, as presented in the above content, is a schematic mapping mechanism between the two spatial domains of Source and Target.
