Multiculturalism in fictionLinh SonGao Xingjian's works come from the author himself, Gao Xingjian, an overseas Chinese writer. He lived in China for more than 40 years, had to leave his homeland and become a French citizen because of social and political disagreements.
That multicultural phenomenon in the novel Linh Son is first expressed in traditional Chinese elements: legendary stories, religion, customs and practices; Chinese history from ancient to modern times...
And that phenomenon is also expressed in Western cultural elements through the imprint of postmodern literature in the following aspects: Gao Xingjian's concept of art and the postmodern poetics he uses in his works.
