10. Summary of the thesis results:

This study aims to understand the process of social reintegration education for juvenile offenders in reform schools. This involves examining the educational content, methods, facilities, and the coordination between reform schools, families, and society.

Research results show that: (1) The reform school has spacious and clean facilities that basically meet the daily living needs of students. With communal living, juvenile offenders learn neatness, orderliness, patience, and mutual respect. (2) The reform school equips students with knowledge of culture, civic education, life skills education, and vocational guidance. This has helped students have many advantages in integrating into the community. (3) The educational methods in the reform school are very diverse and suitable for each educational content. However, they are still heavily authoritarian. This negatively affects the social integration of children. (4) The reform school lacks staff with specialized training in social work, so the work of education, integration, and assistance for children is still limited. (5) The coordination between reform schools - families - society is not really good, which has created certain difficulties for children to reintegrate into society, and this is also the reason leading to the recidivism of many children after leaving reform schools.

The study's findings indicate that, overall, social reintegration education for minors in reform schools has achieved some notable successes. However, several limitations still exist, which are the main reasons for the recidivism of juvenile offenders.

11. Practical applications: (if any)

This research proposes specific solutions for reform schools, families with juvenile offenders, the community/society, and the juvenile offenders themselves to improve the effectiveness of social reintegration education, helping them easily integrate into the community and develop into useful citizens for society.

  • Social work with children who have violated the law in reform schools.
  • Social reintegration for children after leaving reform school.

By living all together, adolescents are more organized, more patient and more concessive. (2) The school has provided its students with enough knowledge of culture, living, career orientation and vocation, which gives students great opportunities to integrate. (3) Educational methodologies are diverse and appropriate for each educational content. However, the methodology sometimes negatively affects students. (4) The school lacks teaching staff who is specialized in social work. (5) The collaboration among the school, the family and the society is not tight enough.
