There are still children who do not perform correctly with assistance or who refuse to perform communication skills, primarily those with severe autism. There are also differences in the level of communication skill development among autistic children of different ages. Many factors influence the communication skills of autistic children, such as: the severity of autism, personality traits, and communication characteristics of the autistic child; the educational level of the parents, and their understanding of autism and the communication characteristics of their autistic child. The educational level of the teachers, the methods used to teach communication skills to autistic children, and other objective factors such as the surrounding social environment or the communication environment within the family.
