Summary of thesis results: After surveying and researching the entire system of stelae in Thang Long - Hanoi in the two districts of Tho Xuong and Vinh Thuan (equivalent to the current districts of Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Ba Dinh, Tay Ho, and Cau Giay), we draw the following conclusions: - Thang Long - Hanoi is the political, economic, and cultural center of the country, a place with a dense system of cultural heritage with many diverse and rich types of relics and a massive volume of stelae dating from the Le Trung Hung period to the Nguyen period. - The stelae of Thang Long - Hanoi are relatively late in date compared to other localities. The stelae reflecting the cultural life, beliefs, and customs of Thang Long account for a large number and are significantly more dominant than other fields. From the custom of sending memorial steles and electing successors to the worship of deities, ancestral worship of professions, and worship of historical figures, the detailed records in the stone inscriptions reflect the reverence and gratitude of people towards the gods. - Memorial steles constitute a large proportion of the surveyed inscriptions, especially during the Nguyen dynasty, which was the peak period of this practice, with a significantly higher number than in other periods. The custom of sending memorial steles became an indispensable need, deeply ingrained in the thoughts and subconscious of the urban class, and became a widespread practice in Hanoi as well as throughout the country. - Education and examinations in Thang Long - Hanoi are recorded through the system of steles at the Temple of Literature in Thang Long and the temples of literature in various localities. Besides reflecting the overall picture of education nationwide, the steles at the Temple of Literature also help us to more realistically assess the examination system and education of Thang Long through the examinations, the number of successful candidates, the passing rates compared to the rest of the country, those considered true Thang Long residents, etc. The economy and trade in Thang Long - Hanoi are recorded through steles at the ancestral worship sites in Hanoi's Old Quarter. Steles recording traditional crafts are not numerous; this is truly an important, yet scarce, source of historical information in Hanoi's Old Quarter, which is gradually fading away amidst increasing urbanization. The contributions of the various classes of Thang Long - Hanoi citizens, recorded through steles in public activities such as building and restoring historical sites, constructing roads, and building bridges, are also worth considering and evaluating from an economic perspective of Thang Long throughout different periods. Through the records of money and land inscribed on each stele, we learn about the economic disparities between social classes and the state of private land ownership throughout history. The presence of Chinese people in the stele at the guildhalls helps us see how their trading organization surpassed that of the local population in scale and level, and how the economy of this group contributed to the prosperity of Thang Long - Hanoi in the 19th century. 12. Practical applications: Used as reference material for research and teaching on the history and culture of Hanoi. Classification according to criteria and content helps us understand the political, economic, cultural, and legal life of the citizens of Thang Long - Hanoi through the records of the stele inscriptions. 13.
