Through Tay Nôm verse narratives, especially some representative stories, to analyze some issues: Is Tay Nôm poetry folk literature or written literature? To highlight some aspects of content, art, character system, and the picture of life of the Tay people in the past through Nôm verse narratives. To explore Hoang Duc Hau's poetry in several aspects: content, art, and especially the imprint of a creative personality in modern Tay poetry. And we arrive at the following conclusions: Since the emergence of Tay written literature, it has been continuously affirmed by increasingly refined works of Nôm verse narratives. In its development, this literary tradition has not been interrupted but has formed a continuous stream connecting the medieval, modern, and contemporary periods, with each stage having its own representative names and works. From anonymous Nôm verse narratives to the poetry of Hoang Duc Hau, we gain a deeper understanding of the continuity of Tay written literature. Furthermore, reading Nôm verse narratives and the poetry of Hoang Duc Hau reveals a significant shift in the way Tay written literature perceives and approaches real life. In Hoang Duc Hau's poetry, reality is the dominant theme, and it is particularly characterized by individual creation, strongly reflecting personal style.
