The purpose of this research topic is to evaluate tourism products serving backpackers in Ha Long based on theoretical research on the law of supply and demand, tourist market and practical observation, investigation and evaluation of backpackers. The topic has clarified the backpacker market in general and the backpacker market to Vietnam and Ha Long in particular. In addition, the thesis also points out the characteristics, nature and expectations of the backpacker market when traveling to serve as a basis for building suitable tourism products, evaluating the level of access, requirements and feelings of backpackers about tourism products in Ha Long today. The results of the thesis include 2 main parts:
Firstly, the thesis outlines the backpacker market in Vietnam, approaches to information, promotion and introduction, and basic needs of this market. Furthermore, the thesis also points out the current situation and weaknesses in building tourism products specifically serving the backpacker market.
Second, the author has proposed some recommendations based on the combination of research results, survey of 200 backpackers and interviews with experts and travel agencies specializing in serving the backpacker market. In addition, the results can help tourism authorities as a basis for reference and orientation on the backpacker market.

Presenting the current status of tourism products in Ha Long for the backpacker market. As a basis for proposing and developing tourism products for travel businesses and state agencies to meet the needs and serve specifically for this market.

The purpose of this research evaluates the tourism products for backpackers to Halong based on a theoretical of supply and demand rule, the market for tourists and the practical observation, survey and assessment of backpacker tourists. The research has clarified not only the market of backpackers but also the market of backpackers in Vietnam and in Ha Long. In addition, the research also outlines the characteristics, expectations of backpacker tourists in order to make suitable tourism products, assess the level of access, requirements and perceptions of backpacker tourists about tourism products in Ha Long. The result of this research consists of two parts:
Firstly, this research explores the market of backpackers to Vietnam, the information approach, introduction and basic demands of this market. Moreover, the research also points out the realities and weaknesses in the bulding of tourism products for backpacker tourists.
Secondly, the author proposes some recommendations based on combining research results, surveying 200 backpackers and interviewing travel experts and tour operators. In addition, the results can help government and travel agencies to focus on issues and target on the backpacker market.

Accentuate the current status of tourism products in Ha Long for the backpacker market in order to propose and develop tourism products for travel agencies and state agencies to respond to the demand of separate services for this market.
