10. Summary of the thesis results:
Firstly, the thesis has systematized the overview of research and the theoretical basis of community tourism, including: studies and introductions to community tourism and community tourism in Ha Giang and Hoang Su Phi district; community tourism models around the world and in Vietnam and lessons learned; clarification of related concepts (community, community tourism, tourism product); and identification of factors affecting the development of community tourism.
Secondly, the thesis analyzed the conditions for developing community-based tourism among the Dao people in Hoang Su Phi district, Ha Giang province, including natural and socio-cultural conditions. In addition, the thesis clarified the participation of stakeholders in developing community-based tourism for the Dao people in this area. Through this, it identified the advantages and disadvantages.
Thirdly, the thesis clarified the community-based tourism development activities of the Dao people in Hoang Su Phi district, Ha Giang province, including: Dao community tourism villages and Dao community tourism products currently being exploited. Through this, it assessed achievements and limitations; and constructed a SWOT analysis of strengths – weaknesses – opportunities – threats.
Fourth, based on an analysis of community tourism development trends and the current situation, the thesis offers several policy implications and recommendations.
