10. Summary of thesis results:
The author reviews domestic and international studies on the participation of local communities in cultural tourism development, analyzes relevant theories, and determines the measurement scale used in the study. The main research method of the thesis is qualitative. The measurement scale used is that of Pretty (1995) and includes 7 levels: (1) passive participation; (2) participation in providing information; (3) participation in advising; (4) participation for material incentives; (5) participation in functional activities; (6) interactive participation; (7) active participation. The research was conducted through in-depth interviews with 11 tourism households in Mai Hich commune; with local authorities (2 commune officials and 7 village heads); 2 tourism and travel businesses; and a survey through questionnaires with 207 tourists visiting Mai Hich commune.
The research topic examines the conditions for developing cultural tourism in Mai Hich commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province, including natural tourism resources, cultural tourism resources, infrastructure, tourism facilities and technical infrastructure, local tourism development policies; the awareness of the local community about cultural tourism, and the linkages between stakeholders in cultural tourism development.
Furthermore, the study analyzed the current state of cultural tourism development in Mai Hich commune. Simultaneously, the study provided an overview of the participation of local communities in cultural tourism development based on data collected through qualitative methods and in-depth interviews. From this, the author focused on analyzing the forms of local community participation in cultural tourism development; researching the level of community involvement in tourism activities; and studying the influencing factors and barriers to local community participation in tourism activities.
Based on the research findings, the author has proposed several solutions and recommendations to enhance community participation in tourism activities, especially cultural tourism in Mai Hich, developing tourism that both preserves resources and helps people alleviate poverty and improve their quality of life; while also contributing to promoting the image of the locality.
11. Practical applications:
The research findings provide a basis for tourism management agencies and tourism businesses to develop support policies to encourage the effective participation of local communities in the development of cultural tourism, and to promote Mai Hich commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province as a destination based on the cultural tourism resources of the community and the locality.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The author conducted a literature review of domestic and international studies on the involvement of the local community (LC) in the development of cultural tourism (CT), analyzed relevant theories, and identified the research measurement scale. The primary research method employed in the thesis is qualitative. The scale used is adapted from Pretty (1995) and includes seven levels: (1) active participation; (2) providing information; (3) advisory participation; (4) participation for material benefits; (5) participation in functional activities; (6) interactive participation; (7) proactive participation. The study was conducted through in-depth interviews with 11 tourism households in Mai Hich commune; for local authorities (02 commune officials and 07 village leaders); 02 tourism and travel businesses; and a survey through questionnaires with 207 tourists visiting Mai Hich commune.
The research topic explores the conditions for the development of CT in Mai Hich commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province, including natural tourism resources, cultural tourism resources, infrastructure, technical tourism facilities, and local tourism development policies. It also investigates the LC's perceptions of CT, the linkages between stakeholders in CT development.
Additionally, the study analyzes the current situation of cultural tourism development in Mai Hich commune. The thesis evaluates the overall participation of the LC in CT development based on qualitative data gathered through in-depth interviews. The author focuses on analyzing the forms of LC participation in CT development, studying the level of community participation in tourism activities, and exploring factors and barriers to LC participation in tourism activities.
Based on the research findings, the author proposes several solutions and recommendations to enhance community participation in tourism activities, especially cultural tourism in Mai Hich, aiming to develop tourism while preserving resources, alleviating poverty, improving the quality of life, and contributing to the promotion of the local image.

The research findings provide the basis for tourism management authorities and tourism businesses to promote policies aimed at encouraging effective participation of the local community in the development of cultural tourism. These policies are designed to promote the cultural tourism destination of Mai Hich commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province, based on the cultural tourism resources of both the community and the local area.
