10. Summary of the thesis results:

Reality television is an inevitable trend in modern television and the entertainment and media industry in general. In Vietnam, reality television is likened to a European dish that not every Vietnamese person finds appealing. However, for young audiences, the opportunity to participate, experience, and express themselves in reality television is truly attractive and captivating.

VTV6 – a television channel for young people – was created with the mission of being a channel specifically for teenagers and young adults, a meeting place for young people, reflecting their thoughts, aspirations, and needs. The channel's goal is to guide the development of personality, abilities, and behavior of young people with a fresh and youthful style of program production.

With this topic, the author has the opportunity to express his views on a new trend in Vietnamese television; on a new and unique style of reality television on the youth-oriented television channel - VTV6. This is achieved through a survey of three typical reality television programs on the channel:Live differently,Opposite direction,My choiceThrough in-depth interviews with the editors and producers of the aforementioned programs and surveys of 300 viewers of the channel, the author highlights the reality television style of VTV6 channel as demonstrated by: a purely Vietnamese program format; engaging program themes suitable to the audience's psychology; the selection of memorable characters; and an emphasis on psychological and emotional elements in the works. In addition, the author points out the advantages and limitations of VTV6's reality television style. From there, the author raises some issues in building the current reality television style and proposes solutions to improve the quality of reality television programs on VTV6 in the future, such as: focusing on the strengths of the purely Vietnamese reality television format, the strength in exploring the psychology and emotions of the characters; professionalizing the personnel working on reality television, and simultaneously strengthening communication and interaction in reality television programs.

11. Practical applications:

The results of this study will contribute to supplementing the theoretical framework of Journalism on the issue of reality television style and the reality television style of VTV6 channel. This can be considered a reference document for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. In completing this thesis, the author also hopes that VTV6 staff, reporters, editors, etc., as well as those working in reality television, will gain a theoretical perspective on this issue and be able to apply it to production to improve program quality.

11. Summary of thesis results

Reality TV (Reality Television) is an inevitable trend of development of modern television in particular and of the media and entertainment industry in general. In Vietnam, reality television is resembled a European dish that does not always suit every Vietnamese people's taste. However, as for the young public, the chance to participate, experience and express ... in reality shows is really attractive and appealing to them.

VTV6 - TV channel for young people, which mission for establishment is dedicated to the youth, providing the atmosphere for young people to meet, reflect their spiritual lives, aspirations and needs. The aim of the channel is to guide personality, capacity and behavior development of adolescents in a new and youthful style.

In this study, the writer has the condition to express her views on a new trend of Vietnam television; that is the new and extraordinary style of VTV6 - the TV channel for young people. Through researching three typical reality programs of the channel: Song different (Living in a different way), Ngoc chieu (On the contrary); My choices; in-depth interviews with production editors and surveys on 300 spectators, the writer has highlighted the style of VTV6 reality channel in some aspects, such as: format of a traditional Vietnamese program; attractive and suitable subject for psychological reception of audiences; selective choices of characters; attentive to psychological and emotional factors in the work. In addition, the writer has pointed out the advantages and limitations in the style of the works of VTV6 reality channel. Since then, the writer raises a number of issues in building style for the reality works at present and gives solutions to improve the quality of the reality programs of VTV6 in the upcoming time, such as: focusing on the strength of traditional Vietnam reality format, exploiting psychological and emotional aspect of characters; raising professionalization of staff working on reality television while enhancing communication and interaction in reality program.

12. Ability of application in the reality:

The results of the study will contribute to complement theory of Journalism on the style of reality television and the style of VTV6 reality television channel. This can be considered as a reference material for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. Carrying on this thesis, the writer also expects that officials, reporters, editors ... of VTV6 channels as well as the staff working on reality television will be provided with a theoretical perspective on this issue and may apply in production to improve the quality of the program.
