- Present the foundations of the Vietnam - Japan economic relationship: Prerequisites; Results of Vietnam - Japan economic cooperation before 2006; and policies to promote international cooperation in general and develop economic relations between the two countries in particular by the Government of each country.
- Presenting the current state of Vietnam - Japan economic relations from 2006 to present - The period when the economic relations between the two countries have developed strongly and remarkably after the Joint Statement on building a strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia. The results achieved in the relationship are shown in three contents: Trade relations, Investment cooperation and Official Development Assistance (ODA) of Japan for Vietnam.
- Based on the assessment of the advantages and limitations existing in the current economic relations between the two countries, propose a number of solutions to promote development, including general solutions and solutions for each field of Trade Relations, Investment Cooperation and ODA; at the same time, give comments on the development prospects of the economic relations between the two countries in the coming time.

+ Presents the basis of economic relationships between Vietnam and Japan: The pre-condition; condition; Results of Vietnam-Japan economic cooperation before 2006; and policies to promote international cooperation in general and to develop the Vietnam - Japan economic relations of each country in particular.
+ Presents the real situation of Vietnam-Japan economic relations from 2006 to present – The period that economic relations of the two countries outstandingly flourished after the Joint Declaration on building strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia. The results are expressed in three contents: Trade Relation, Investment Cooperation and Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Viet Nam.
