10. Summary of the thesis results:
The main purpose of the thesis "The Women's Political Movement in Japan from the Post-World War II Era (1945) to the Present" is to present and analyze the main developments and some outstanding achievements in the women's political movement in Japan. Besides the achievements, the thesis also points out the limitations of the women's political movement in Japan, a country that ranks among the world's top in economic development and Human Development Index (HDI) but is among the countries with the lowest Gender Equality Index (GDI). Based on the understanding that gender stereotypes in Japanese society are a major reason for the limited participation of women in politics in this country, the author proposes several solutions to overcome these limitations, based on research into the experiences of several other countries.
Drawing on the case of Japan, the thesis also relates and compares it to the case of Vietnam. Looking back at the reality of women's participation in politics in Vietnam in recent decades, the author has also pointed out some difficulties and shortcomings, and from there boldly expressed her own views on the direction of solutions.
11. Practical applications:
Currently, Japan is facing many challenging social issues such as declining child birth rates and an aging population. One of the fundamental causes of these problems is the deep-seated gender inequality in Japanese society. Integrating women into politics on equal footing with men, allowing them to contribute to policy-making that aligns with women's aspirations, is essential to addressing these social problems in Japan.
Drawing from the case of Japan, this thesis also contributes suggestions to further enhance women's political participation, contributing to building a democratic and equal society as a foundation for economic development in Vietnam.
12. Further research directions: The changing position of women in Japanese society; the influence of Confucian patriarchal ideology on the changing position of Japanese women in society.
