This thesis conducts research based on the theoretical framework of discourse analysis and argumentation theory. Using argumentative material from the book "Ho Chi Minh's Quotations" (compiled by Thanh Duy, Literature Publishing House, Hanoi 2011), it explores the characteristics of argumentation types and the manifestation of power in President Ho Chi Minh's arguments. Specifically, Chapter 2 presents a classification of three argumentation types: direct argumentation, implicit argumentation, and contextual argumentation. Chapter 3 analyzes the manifestation of power in President Ho Chi Minh's arguments through forms of address, verbs, and politeness.

This thesis is conducted on the basis of the theory about discourse analysis and theory of arguments. Based on the argument argued in the book “Ho Chi Minh Quotations” (compiled by Thanh Duy, Literature Publishing House, Hanoi, 2011), this paper shows the characteristics of type and power expression in the arguments of President Ho Chi Minh. specifically, chapter 2 of this thesis gives the classification result consisting of three types of arguments including indexical argument, implicit argument, and context argument. Chapter 3 analyzes the power expression in the argument of President Ho Chi Minh through vocative words, performative verbs, and politeness.
