10. Summary of the thesis results:

Corporate culture plays a crucial role in business operations; any organization needs a culture to survive and thrive in the long term. Every nation and people, in order to develop and progress, must have a strong culture that reflects the unique characteristics of its people and nation. Corporate culture is no exception to this rule. Along with national culture, each business creates its own distinct identity, giving it a unique character. To continue developing in today's environment, businesses must consider culture as an integral part of the organization. Because, without a unique identity, a business will find it very difficult to secure a firm foothold in today's increasingly diverse market.

Through exploring how national cultural characteristics influence Korean businesses in Vietnam, specifically Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. and My Hung Vuong Co., Ltd., we aim to contribute another perspective on one of the reasons for the success and failure of Korean companies in Vietnam. This will offer suggestions for researching and understanding Vietnamese corporate culture, and ultimately, finding ways to build a complete and effective corporate culture for Vietnamese businesses while preserving our national identity – integrating without assimilating.

The cultural differences between Vietnam and South Korea are evident in the business world. And these differences are one of the main reasons for conflicts and disagreements that arise within South Korean businesses in Vietnam.

With the management style of Korean bosses being "tycoon-like," emphasizing discipline, high hierarchy, and an overemphasis on the power of money; and Vietnamese workers with low discipline, lack of professionalism, a careless and sloppy attitude, and a lack of responsibility towards their work... These differences, along with language barriers, are the causes of conflict, culminating in instances of Korean bosses treating Vietnamese workers unethically, or arbitrary strikes and protests by workers.

Finding a complete solution to resolve the aforementioned conflicts is unrealistic. However, by framing the problem as providing solutions to improve the business culture of Korean enterprises in a way that aligns with Vietnamese culture, this thesis has proposed a set of advisory solutions for relevant agencies in both countries, as well as for Korean businesses. This will help to leverage cultural similarities and mitigate differences and conflicts.

The above-mentioned results of this thesis will, to some extent, contribute to solving the problems posed by theory and practice today, namely the widespread conflicts and disagreements occurring in foreign-invested enterprises in general, and Korean enterprises in particular, one of the main causes of which stems from cultural conflicts and differences.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

Corporate culture plays an important role in business operations. The long-term development of business strongly depends in corporate culture. Each nation needs a strong culture to develop itself which is characterized by their people and it is similar to corporate culture. Along with national culture, each business has its uniqueness by creating a corporate character for itself. Currently, in a competitive environment, a company must consider that corporate culture as one of the most important components to the growth of business. If companies run without their uniqueness, it will be difficult to identify a firm position in the diversity market.

Through the case study of understanding how the national culture influences Korean's companies which is based in Vietnam, examination of two companies: Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co. Ltd, and My Hung Vuong Co. Ltd; the thesis would like to contribute aperspective on one of the causes to the success and failure of Korean companies in Vietnam. Thereby opens the suggestions for the study, understanding Vietnamese corporate culture. Moreover, it will provide a direction to improve the Vietnamese's corporate culture effectively as well as maintaining our own national character.

The first difference is national culture of Korean and Vietnamese always exists inside a company, even it bases in Vietnam. It creates a great distance to the relationship between labor and management and moreover, it is critical corporate conflict.

The second may appear in the management style of Korean's boss like a “tycoon business”, high discipline, traditional hierarchical system, and serious on the power of money; compare with Vietnamese labors with low self-discipline, lack of professionalism, unskilled worker, lack a sense of responsibility towards work...

These differences, along with the language barrier might cause of corporate conflict. It all culminates the phenomenon of the Korean boss to bad behavior to Vietnamese labor; and therefore it general strikes, demonstrations of workers arbitrarily.

It is limited to come out solutions that resolve the conflict thoroughly. However, the question is how to make these effectively that improve the corporate culture of Korean's company in line with the Vietnamese culture. The thesis presents a group of consultations which are suitable to both sides (the public affair of Korea and Vietnam as well as Korea's company). It will discover the similarities of cultural factors so far limiting the exits differences and conflicts

Results of the thesis will partly contribute significantly to solve the problems of theoretical and practical situations. Currently, the biggest problem is conflict; it is happening quite common in the foreign-invested enterprise; especially the Korean companies, that one of the main reasons starts from conflicting issues and cultural differences.
