This thesis focuses on describing the basic types of imperative intonation in Vietnamese based on the speaker's communicative purpose. The results of this thesis point out the characteristics and differences between three types of imperative intonation: RaOrder, RequestandEntreatthrough three intonation parameters:altitude, intensityandlength.

The results of this thesis can be applied in two main areas.Teaching Vietnamese as a Foreign LanguageandInformation technology(Speech synthesis from text, speech recognition and human-robot dialogue, etc.).
