10. Summary of the thesis results:
With the topic "US-Russia Relations on Missile Defense Systems in Europe," the author aims to explore in greater depth the issue of nuclear weapons, particularly missile defense systems in Europe, the specific deployments by the US over different periods, and Russia's responses. Simultaneously, the author also examines its impact on the relationship between the two global superpowers, the US and Russia, and its effect on the European security environment.
The thesis consists of three main parts: Introduction, Content, and Conclusion. The main content is divided into three (03) chapters.
Chapter 1 introduces the most general issues concerning missile defense systems in Europe, enabling readers to understand what a missile defense system is, its characteristics and role, and the views of the US and NATO on deploying missile defense systems in Europe.
Chapter 2 is the most important chapter in the author's research, focusing on the deployment of the US missile defense system in Europe and Russia's reaction to this issue. The author examines the deployment of the defense system in Europe across two periods: the administrations of George Walker Bush and Barack Hussein Obama. This section highlights the differences in security strategies and the changes in these strategies during the two periods, focusing on the plans and implementation of the missile defense system in Europe. To understand Russia's reaction, the author investigates its political stance and responses during each phase regarding the missile defense system in Europe. Through chapter two, readers can see the differences in security strategies across different presidencies, thereby gaining a more specific understanding of how the US deployed its missile defense system in Europe over different periods, as well as its impact on Russia, leading to Russia's corresponding reactions and retaliatory actions.
Building upon the issues studied in Chapters 1 and 2, Chapter 3 focuses on assessing the impact of the US missile defense system in Europe, specifically its impact on the overall security environment in Europe, its impact on US-Russia relations, and its impact on Russia-NATO relations.
