10. Summary of thesis results:
Based on the application of the approach to children's values from published domestic and foreign scientific works, the main research direction of the topic focuses on 5 main groups of values related to children including: psychological values, emotional values, economic values, marital values and self-affirmation values. The main research result is to describe and explain the current status of the concept of children's values in families at CT3 Co Nhue Apartment, Hanoi today.
Through the use of survey analysis data combined with data from in-depth interviews, the topic has initially shown the value scale in the value table about children corresponding to the level of needs that parents want to be met from their children. The hierarchical order of value groups is assessed as follows: (1) marital value; (2) emotional value; (3) psychological value; (4) self-affirmation value and (5) economic value. The explanation for this arrangement is based on the approach to alternative resources, leading to a decline in the value of children in some aspects that have been considered.
The research results of the topic show the difference in the concept of children's value from the perspective of gender. T.Parsons's theoretical approach to gender roles creates a theoretical premise for explanations of this difference, according to which, men and women, with different roles in the family, will have different views and assessments in the concept of children's value.
The research results of the topic also show the difference in the concept of children's value from the perspective of occupation and age group. With the characteristics of occupation in terms of income, education and ability to participate in society, the satisfaction of the needs met from the children is different, so their expectations about the value of children clearly show the difference in the assessment of the hierarchy of needs about children's value.
The topic points out the factors that influence the concept of children's values, in which awareness is the factor that has the most potential impact besides family and social factors.
11. Practical applicability: The approach to child value implemented in the research topic has concretized the picture of the ladder of needs for child value, contributing to explaining the decline in fertility in the population, thereby helping researchers, population workers, and policy makers have timely impacts as well as promoting the development of practical solutions in adjusting the fertility rate appropriately to the population structure, creating development and stability in the country's socio-economy.
12. Further research directions: Research on the concept of child value expressed in the network of costs and benefits that children bring to parents in rural and urban areas.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The major approach on research focuses on describing and analyzing the way of looking at the value of children to parents at the families in Hanoi. It is said that seeing children as a means of satisfying the special need in terms of marriage, affection, psychology, economic utility, self-affirmant is the concretization “pleasures, likes, desires, wants, needs” parents impose on children.
Results indicate that, the two most important values were that (1) children bring the value of marriage and (2) children bring love and affection. By using the model that children would be most valued for meeting a particular need when there were fewest alternative mechanisms for fulfilling the need, this outcome helps prove hypothesis giving in research that parents emphasize the importance of the basic psychological need more than the economic utility value to children.
Empirical research has documented the relationship between several important variables by sex – role definitions, occupation and age. This reflects lots of different looking at the value of children to individuals in the parenting role, especialy to groups differ widely in their sociodemographic factors.
This conceptualization was part of a theoretical model for predicting fertility motivation in the population by better understanding the values people perceive in children. The study was designed to investigate specific values that children can meet the best needs their parents want.
12. Practical applicability, if any: Studying the value of children to understand about advantages of having children and how these relate to fertility attitudes.
13. Further research directions, if any: Studying the value of children at net costs and net benefits as percieved by parents living in rural and urban area.
