10. Summary of thesis results:

- The thesis clarifies the foundations for trade relations between Vietnam and China in the period of 2010-2016. In particular, political-diplomatic relations, cooperation in culture, sports and tourism, and cooperation in border and territory are the premise, laying the foundation for the development of economic-trade relations between the two countries. In addition, more than 30 agreements and documents on economic and trade signed between the governments, some ministries, central agencies and local authorities of the two countries are the legal basis for trade relations between Vietnam and China in the period of 2010-2016.

- The thesis has provided specific analysis of the trade situation between the two countries in the period of 2010-2016 through data collected from the General Department of Customs and specialized magazines. Thereby, the author pointed out the reasons leading to the imbalance in trade balance between the two countries, specifically always tilting the benefits towards China. The author also gave an assessment of the impact of Vietnam - China trade on the socio-economy of Vietnam.

- On that basis, the thesis has pointed out the opportunities and challenges in the trade relationship between Vietnam and China in the future, proposed policy solutions and specific groups of solutions to limit the trade deficit, help balance the two-way trade balance and limit the negative impacts from the wave of Chinese investment in Vietnam. The author also boldly proposed a number of directions to adjust the trade balance between the two countries in the coming time.

11. Practical application:

The thesis has pointed out the current status of trade relations between Vietnam and China in the period 2010-2016, analyzed in depth the causes and impacts of this relationship on Vietnam and proposed specific solutions that can be applied in practice to improve trade relations between the two countries in the coming time.

The thesis can be used as a reference for trade policy makers and as a reference and learning material for students when studying Vietnam - China relations.
