10. Summary of the thesis results: This thesis is the first comprehensive and systematic study of Islamic mosques during the medieval period in several countries in the Middle East. The thesis introduces the characteristics of architectural art and the main functions of Islamic mosques. It also analyzes the outstanding features of architectural art and function of Islamic mosques from 909-1517 in four Middle Eastern countries (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Syria).
