Summary of the thesis's findings: Ho Bieu Chanh is one of the few Southern Vietnamese novelists who fully and comprehensively demonstrated the transitional nature of literature during the 1900-1930 period. Since his appearance on the national literary scene, his novels have possessed new characteristics that are highly suitable to the artistic sensibilities of the people of Southern Vietnam in particular, and most of the general public nationwide in general. Through the active absorption of the finest elements of Eastern literature, the selective learning of Western literary excellence, and the enrichment of his own abilities by absorbing experiences from the national literary tradition, Ho Bieu Chanh contributed to the innovation of the novel in terms of plot construction, details, structure, character development, psychology, and literary language. Ho Bieu Chanh's assimilation, inheritance, and experimentation in character development have contributed significantly to the art of constructing and developing the psychology of characters in Vietnamese novels during the 1930-1945 period and to contemporary Vietnamese literature. Ho Bieu Chanh also brought to the literature of this transitional period thrilling, captivating, and suspenseful novels that attracted a large readership, inheriting and learning from the experiences of traditional novels in plot construction, structure, and chronological order. Alongside plots with many adventurous details reflecting the realities of life, there were also new plot styles, adapted from Western styles but imbued with Vietnamese colors, settings, and culture, creating a fresh yet familiar feeling for the reader. Ho Bieu Chanh selectively inherited the traditional chapter-by-chapter structure and the structure of Nôm verse narratives, while also creatively incorporating modern Western novel structures into his works. The art of language construction is also one of Ho Bieu Chanh's most important and significant contributions to Vietnamese literature. By absorbing Western techniques, harmonizing them with traditional techniques, and incorporating the language of everyday life into literature, he created vivid and relatable writing in his novels. Ho Bieu Chanh boldly innovated the language of novels in all three aspects: vocabulary, phonetics, and grammar. This resulted in sentences that both reflected the character of the Southern delta and the breath of life, rich in imagery, easy to understand, and relatable... truthfully reflecting the lifestyle of people in Southern Vietnam in the early 20th century.

Summary result of the thesis: Ho Bieu Chanh is one of a few Sothern novelists who presents fully and completely the characteristic of interchange literature in the period 1900 – 1930. Since his appearance in the national literature field, his novels have new features which are very suitable for art perception of Sothern people in particular and most of national popular people in common. With the positive reception of Oriental literature's cream, learning with sift of the Western Literature's cream and his self ability enrichment by absorbing the experience from national literature tradition, Ho Bieu Chanh has played his role in renewing novel in some aspects such as plot building, particulars, structure of the composition as well as personalities, psychology of character and literary language in compositions. Such those reception, inheritance and test of Ho Bieu Chanh in his character building have involved his considerable role in the art of building and development of Vietnam's novel character in the period 1930 – 1945 and the present Vietnam Literature. For the Literature of interchange period, Ho Bieu Chanh also created some interesting, fascinating novels which attracted readers by inheriting and learning experience of traditional novels in plot building, structure and timeline. Besides some plots with adventure details which frankly describe actual life, there are some kinds of new plots which assemble as the Western style but with Vietnam's color and prospect, that make new and close at hand feeling for readers. Ho Bieu Chanh inherits the style of chapter, episode and the style of Nom story-poem with sift as well as creative reception the style of modern structure in Western novel of his work. Language building art is also one of the best and the most important contribution of Ho Bieu Chanh into the national Literature. The Western technique reception, in the meeting with traditional technique and the conception of bringing the normal life language into Literature, opens up lively and closed at hand writing pages in his novels.
