Summary of the thesis results: Ho Bieu Chanh is one of the few Southern novelists who fully and comprehensively expressed the transitional nature of literature in the period 1900-1930. Since appearing on the national literary scene, his novels have had new features that are very suitable for the artistic perception of the Southern people in particular and most of the common people nationwide. With the active absorption of the quintessence of Eastern literature, the selective learning of the quintessence of Western literature, and the self-enrichment of his own abilities by absorbing experiences from the country's literary tradition, Ho Bieu Chanh has contributed to the innovation of novels in terms of plot construction, details, composition of works, character personalities, psychology and literary language of the works. Ho Bieu Chanh's reception, inheritance and experimentation in character building have contributed significantly to the art of building and developing character psychology in Vietnamese novels in the period 1930-1945 and to current Vietnamese literature. Ho Bieu Chanh also brought to the literature of the transitional period thrilling, attractive, suspenseful novels, attracting a large number of readers with the inheritance and learning of experiences from traditional novels in building plots, structures and time order. Besides the plots with many adventurous details, reflecting the reality of life, there are new plot types, adapted from the West but with Vietnamese colors, scenes and culture, giving readers fresh and familiar feelings. Ho Bieu Chanh has selectively inherited the traditional chapter structure and Nom poetry structure as well as creatively absorbed the modern structure of Western novels into his works. The art of language construction is also the most important and greatest contribution of Ho Bieu Chanh to the country's literature. With the absorption of Western techniques, harmonization with traditional techniques and the concept of bringing the language of life into literature, it has opened up lively and close pages in his novels. Ho Bieu Chanh boldly innovated the language of novels in all three aspects: vocabulary, phonetics and grammar, making his sentences both have the appearance of the Southern Delta and the breath of life, rich in images, easy to understand, easy to sympathize... truly reflecting the lifestyle of the people of Southern Vietnam in the early years of the 20th century.

Since his appearance in the national literature field, his novels have new features which are very suitable for art perception of Sothern people in particular and most of national popular people in common. With the positive reception of Oriental literature's cream, learning with sift of the Western Literature's cream and his self ability enrichment by absorbing the experience from national literature tradition, Ho Bieu Chanh has played his role in renewing novel in some aspects such as plot building, particulars, structure of the composition as well as personalities, psychology of character and literary language in compositions. Such those reception, inheritance and test of Ho Bieu Chanh in his character building have involved his considerable role in the art of building and development of Vietnam's novel character in the period 1930 – 1945 and the present Vietnam Literature.
